Xu Weiran glanced at Zhou Yan and said to Sheng Ning’an, "This kid is rich, no need to save for him. If he wants to treat, let him treat."
"But that feels a bit inappropriate."
Sheng Ning’an didn’t lack that bit of money, but seeing that the other party insisted on treating, she felt that outright refusal wouldn’t be very polite, so she said, "Then, thanks a lot, I’ll treat you back another day."
"Sure!" The other party responded cheerfully.
Then he took out his phone and said, "Sister Sheng, how about we add each other on WeChat?"
"Eh? Sure!" Sheng Ning’an was just about to get her phone when she heard Xu Weiran say, "Alright, that’s enough greetings, others are still waiting. Let’s go!" With that, he started dragging the other person outside.
He had seen her, so the kid should be able to behave himself now.
Zhou Yan was being pulled outside, but he didn’t forget to call out to Sheng Ning’an, "We are just next door, specially organized a welcome back party for this kid. If you’re free, you can come over and join us later. Don’t worry, they are all Ran’s friends."
After the two left, Tang Dou couldn’t help but lean in close to Sheng Ning’an, gossiping with a curious look on her face, "What’s going on?"
Sheng Ning’an: "What’s what going on?"
"Stop playing dumb, you know what I mean," Tang Dou said, grinning and winking at her mischievously.
Sheng Ning’an gave her a blank look and pouted, "It’s just a greeting, what could it mean? Come on, stop thinking about this and that all day long!"
Tang Dou wasn’t convinced, "He specifically brought his friends over to greet you, and his friend was so generous offering to pay for you. Plus, the way his friend was looking at you, don’t you think it was not at all innocent?"
Sheng Ning’an: "So what? Could it be that his friend is into me?"
Tang Dou: "Why don’t you say it’s God Xu who’s interested in you?"
"Fine, if you say so, then that’s that!" Sheng Ning’an felt very helpless inside.
It had been so long, and yet this girl still hadn’t given up the thought of pairing them up.
"So, are you going over later?" Tang Dou immediately followed up with another question.
"Let’s go!" Since others had specifically invited her, it seemed rather rude not to go.
Sheng Ning’an thought they’d likely wrap up on their side earlier, so she planned to go over there to say hello before leaving.
The gathering had attracted a fair number of girls, most of whom had curfews, so around nine o’clock, the group began to head home one by one. After seeing off everybody, Tang Dou pulled her next door.
Xu Weiran’s group wasn’t large, but it was a few close friends who, upon seeing Sheng Ning’an come over, Zhou Yan immediately called out, "Sister Sheng, come sit with us."
After saying this, he deliberately shifted to the side to make space next to Xu Weiran.
Sheng Ning’an, not the coy type, boldly took Tang Dou and sat down, saying, "Well, all my classmates have left, so I came over to greet everyone. I forgot to say earlier, welcome back to the country."
"Thanks, do you want me to drive you guys home?" Xu Weiran asked.
Sheng Ning’an: "No need, my Young Uncle will come to pick me up later."
No sooner had Sheng Ning’an finished speaking than she heard Zhou Yan saying, "It’s early yet, why not stay and play a little longer?"
"Yeah, let Ran drive you home later." The others also started to chime in.
Xu Weiran gave Sheng Ning’an a smile and asked, "Would that be convenient for you?"
Before Sheng Ning’an could reply, Tang Dou chimed in from the side, "It’s convenient, very convenient, we’re not in a hurry to go back!"
Sheng Ning’an looked at her friend, her eyes full of helplessness, then turned to Xu Weiran saying, "It is convenient, but, won’t it bother you guys?"
Xu Weiran: "Not at all!"
