Chapter 66: Chapter 66 Shifting Anger
After Shen Zhaozhao came out of the classroom and went to fetch her bike, she found that both tires had been deflated completely.
Not only had someone punctured her tires, but they had even removed the valve caps. There was even a Post-it note left on her bike seat.
Shen Zhaozhao tore off the Post-it note and saw what was written on it: “Stay away from Sheng Chuyi! Otherwise, we will make sure you cannot stay at this school!”
It was outright provocation.
“Who did this?” Holding the Post-it note, she looked around and shouted.
The onlookers were all just watching the excitement, but not a single person stepped forward.
Sheng Chuyi stepped forward and asked, “What happened?”
“Mind your own business!” It was obviously the doing of his brainless admirers.
Blaming Sheng Chuyi for the prior incidents came naturally.
With both tires flat, she certainly couldn’t push the bike home by herself. Moreover, she wasn’t about to let this matter slide.
Shen Zhaozhao took the Post-it note directly to the school’s security office.
The teacher at the security office was getting ready to leave work but, after listening to Shen Zhaozhao’s story, promised she would look into the matter first thing tomorrow.
Exiting the security office, she saw Sheng Chuyi waiting at the entrance with his bike.
Seeing her come out, he said to her, “Get on, I’ll give you a ride home.”
Shen Zhaozhao, with a cold expression, ignored him and walked straight past him towards the school gates.
Sheng Chuyi’s eyes held a hidden ambiguity, and his thin lips pursed slightly as he followed her with his bike.
No one spoke again along the way.
Shen Zhaozhao’s mind was consumed with finding the person who had deflated her tires.
If she found out who did it, she would not let it go easily.
The next day, Shen Zhaozhao was attending a self-study session.
She heard a classmate come to find her: “Shen Zhaozhao, the teacher from the security office wants you to drop by.”
Shen Zhaozhao went to the security office, where, in addition to the teacher she had met the previous evening, there was another teacher with black-framed glasses and two girls.
When they saw her come in, the two girls glared at her fiercely.
Shen Zhaozhao didn’t know them.
But from the note the previous night, she could guess that one of them must be an admirer of Sheng Chuyi.
As soon as the security office teacher saw everyone had arrived, she began, “Student Shen Zhaozhao, we have investigated yesterday’s incident. These two students let the air out of your tires, claiming they just wanted to play a joke on you.”
Shen Zhaozhao knew right away that they intended to downplay it.
She immediately asked them in return, “Does the teacher also think this was just a joke?”
Faced with her questioning tone, the teacher from the security office suddenly found it hard to maintain her composure and said with a stern face, “Student Shen Zhaozhao, look, it’s just a small issue, and these two students have also promised to help you fix the bike. I think we should just let it go!”
Shen Zhaozhao’s stubborn temper flared up, and she boldly confronted the teacher: “So in the teacher’s eyes, malicious pranks, threats, and even intimidation are just minor issues? So, if I go and puncture all the other students’ tires and then fix them, does that mean it’s all settled?”
The teacher couldn’t help but choke: “That’s not what I meant, so how would you like to resolve this?”
Shen Zhaozhao looked at the two girls and said, “I want them to apologize to me in front of the entire school.”
Upon hearing this, the two girls immediately looked up and glared fiercely at Shen Zhaozhao: “Impossible!”
“We are not going to apologize to you!”
It was clear that these two were usually spoiled by their families, doing whatever they wanted and thinking there was nothing serious about making a mistake.
She, Shen Zhaozhao, was not about to indulge them.
