Sheng Ning’an did not drive Sheng Ning’an directly back to the school but took her near the snack street instead.
"Why did you bring me here?" Sheng Ning’an looked at him, puzzled.
Xu Weiran: "You haven’t had dinner yet." Back when we were at school, I heard that couples liked to come here for food.
However, most of the time, he ate in the cafeteria and rarely visited this area.
Now that he had a girlfriend, he naturally wanted to share the experience with her.
"But I’m not hungry yet," Sheng Ning’an said.
Having had fruit and snacks all afternoon, she did not feel hungry at all.
Xu Weiran: "We can just buy a little. If we can’t finish it, we can share it with our roommates back at the dorm later."
There were a lot of people on snack street and numerous college students could be spotted.
There was also a wide variety of food available.
Nonetheless, those were things Sheng Ning’an would not have eaten before.
Xu Weiran remembered that she seemed to be a bit of a clean freak and took her hand, saying, "Forget it, let’s go somewhere else."
"Now that we’re here."
Actually, seeing all the couples passing by, Sheng Ning’an guessed the reason he had taken her to the snack street.
What to eat had become irrelevant.
In the end, Sheng Ning’an picked some snacks that had longer lines and took them back to the dorm.
Seeing her bring back so much food for everyone, Xue Xian said with a smile, "An’an, you’re too kind, even bringing us late-night snacks."
Tian Yu was even more straightforward: "Our An’an is both beautiful and kind-hearted."
Sheng Ning’an smiled as she distributed the food to everyone, and as she was handing some to Shi Yue, she heard her say, "Thanks, but I’m trying to lose weight tonight, so I won’t eat it!"
Sheng Ning’an said nothing, just about to retrieve the food, when Tian Yu grabbed it from the side: "If Yueyue doesn’t want it, give it to me, I’m not afraid of getting fat—I didn’t eat enough tonight!"
"Not eaten enough? I’ve still got more here, all for you!" Sheng Ning put the rest in front of Tian Yu in one go.
"Thanks, then I won’t be shy!" Tian Yu said graciously.
Sheng Ning’an also breathed a sigh of relief, not knowing how else she would have handled the leftovers.
After distributing the food, Sheng Ning’an picked up her phone to message Xu Weiran.
She asked if he had made it home.
Xu Weiran had just gotten out of the car and smiled upon seeing Sheng Ning’an’s message, replying, "I’m downstairs now."
As he spoke, he walked into the elevator.
Exiting the elevator, Xu Weiran was about to enter his home when he caught a glimpse of a figure squatting at the neighbor’s door from the corner of his eye.
His steps involuntarily paused, and then he walked over and said, "Are you alright?" He lived in a two-apartment-per-floor building, but this was the first time since moving in that Xu Weiran had run into his next-door neighbor.
"I’m fine!" The girl lifted her head, revealing a pale face as she spoke.
Seeing her complexion was off but afraid to seem nosy, Xu Weiran intended to go to his own place. Yet after a few steps, his concern got the better of him. He turned back and said, "You look quite unwell, is there anything I can help with?"
The girl initially did not want to bother him, but given her severe stomach pain and seeing that he did not seem like a bad person, she said, "Could you help me get a car to take me to the hospital? Thank you!"
Xu Weiran took out his phone, ready to call a car, but when he saw her biting her lip and a thin sheen of sweat on her forehead, he worried that calling a car would be too slow. He put away his phone and said to her, "I’ll take you to the hospital!"
