"What do you want to know all that for?" Li Jingjing immediately looked at her roommate.
The roommate said, "What else but to chase after him? Any guy who looks this good has got to be a real catch. He lives around here, so he’s either a student at Jing University or works nearby, which means his job can’t be that bad. Plus, he’s so handsome that even if his job were so-so, I could still accept it. Of course, you met him first, so if you’re interested, I won’t compete with you."
"What are you talking about?" Li Jingjing couldn’t help but blush, but thinking of Xu Weiran’s face made her heart warm up again.
"Just tell me, do you fancy him or not? If you’re not interested, then I’m going to make my move," her roommate said with a mischievous grin and a wink.
"I’m telling you, the early bird catches the worm. It would be such a pity to miss out on such a good opportunity!"
Li Jingjing’s face turned even redder, "What if he already has a girlfriend?"
"Then find a chance to ask him. Didn’t you add his WeChat? When you have time, make him something to eat and take it to him, just to say thanks, and then take the opportunity to probe a bit," her roommate instructed directly.
"That doesn’t seem quite right," Li Jingjing hesitated.
She had never done anything so bold in her life.
From childhood, she had always been seen as the good student, the obedient daughter by her teachers and parents. Now that she was about to graduate from university without ever having been in a relationship, the idea of actively pursuing a boy seemed beyond her abilities.
"What’s wrong with it? It’s not like you’re trying to steal someone else’s boyfriend, just trying to make contact and see. If he has a girlfriend, then let it go, but if he doesn’t, just go for it with confidence," her roommate encouraged.
"Don’t feel like it’s degrading for a girl to chase a guy. When it comes to pursuing love, there’s no shame. Guys won’t think they’re superior just because a girl confesses to them. If they do, it only proves they’re jerks. You’re better off without that kind of man anyway!"
"And besides, it’s not often you meet someone of such quality. If you don’t confess, you’re basically handing him over to someone else. Are you okay with that? I know I wouldn’t be. If you don’t act, then I will!"
"I didn’t say I wouldn’t pursue him!" Li Jingjing said, her face growing hotter, her voice low.
"Right! Then I’ll be waiting for your good news, sister!"
The two went back to the next room, where her roommate started browsing the school forum on her phone, and unexpectedly stumbled upon a photo of Xu Weiran.
Because of that photo from the aquarium, many people at Jing University had started digging into Xu Weiran, uncovering numerous photos and stories from his time at school.
There had even been people who camped out at the research institute to see him, and their findings were posted on the school forum.
Li Jingjing and her roommate, not living at the school, one busy with postgraduate exams, the other with job hunting, had been out of the loop with school gossip, which is why they didn’t know of Xu Weiran.
"Jingjing, come and look, isn’t this our handsome neighbor?" her roommate called out while scrolling through posts, "He actually graduated from Jing University and works at Jing University’s research institute. Since you’re going back to campus tomorrow to discuss your thesis with your advisor, why not invite him to lunch afterward?"
Seeing that Li Jingjing wasn’t responding, her roommate couldn’t resist urging her, "Don’t hesitate! From the comments below, there are quite a few who like him. If you don’t take the initiative, someone else really might snatch him away."
