Ning An returned to the master bedroom for a bath and had just come out of the bathroom when she heard a knock on the door.
She was drying her wet hair as she went to open the door.
Ning An didn’t use the bathrobe provided by the hotel, instead, she had put on the pajamas she brought with her. They weren’t revealing, yet they displayed her fine figure without hiding anything.
When the door opened, there stood Xu Weiran at the doorway.
His gaze fell on her, and after one second, as though electrocuted, he looked away and said, "You hardly ate anything on the plane. I just had the hotel send some food over. Change your clothes and come out to eat something."
Ning An checked her pajamas to ensure there was nothing wrong with them; the places that should be covered were all covered, and the areas that shouldn’t be exposed weren’t at all. She couldn’t understand why he had such a big reaction just now!
Could it be that he’s been single for too long?
Regardless, Ning An still put on a coat over her pajamas before she stepped out.
The table was already set with food.
Xu Weiran stood up to help her pull out a chair and said, "I wasn’t sure what you liked, so I just ordered some things at random."
Ning An glanced at the dishes on the table and then at him.
Was he really unsure about what she liked to eat?
What a coincidence, not knowing yet avoiding all the things she disliked and precisely choosing what she enjoyed?
But she seemed to have never mentioned her food preferences to him; it appeared he deduced them from their past few dining experiences.
One had to admit, he was quite attentive.
"Thank you!" Ning An said as she sat down in the chair.
Indeed, she was starving!
On the plane, she had only snacked on pastries and fruit, basically skipping the main meals.
The food, undoubtedly prepared by a five-star hotel chef, couldn’t possibly be compared to airplane meals. Ning An ate until she was about seventy or eighty percent full, then contentedly stopped and said, "I’m done eating!"
Xu Weiran had also eaten some and upon hearing her, set down his chopsticks and said, "We just finished eating. How about going for a walk? I just noticed that the hotel environment is quite nice."
Having sat on a plane for more than ten hours, she certainly had no energy for a stroll outside, but walking around the hotel should be doable.
"Okay, I’ll go change my clothes."
It really wasn’t advisable to lie down and rest immediately after a meal.
Ning An went back to her room to change, while Xu Weiran tidied the table.
The two then went downstairs.
The hotel was quite large, complete with a dedicated area for leisure and relaxation.
They had coffee and even went for a foot massage and a scalp massage, during which Ning An must’ve been too tired because she fell asleep right in the midst of it.
She awoke to find herself back in the hotel room.
Having no memory of how she got back to the room, she could still make a guess.
Ning An got up to get a drink of water and discovered that Xu Weiran was actually sleeping in the living room. Hearing her footsteps, he opened his eyes and said, "Awake?"
"Yeah, how did I get back here?" Although she could guess, Ning An still asked him.
Xu Weiran smiled and replied, "The masseuse told me you had fallen asleep, so I carried you back to the room. How do you feel? Still tired?"
It was pretty much what Ning An had guessed. She shook her head and said, "Not tired anymore! What about you? Why aren’t you sleeping in the room?"
Xu Weiran: "I guessed you’d wake up soon, so I waited out here for you. Are you hungry? Want to go for a walk nearby?"
After a nap, Ning An felt much more refreshed.
They left the hotel, and the lights were already shining outside.
Walking along the streets, they immersed themselves in the exotic ambience that enveloped them...
