I’ve prepared nothing for anyone. How about I treat everyone to dinner tonight? Let’s consider it as our dorm’s first meal together this year. I’ll treat you all to hot pot, how about that?”
Only then did Xue Xian notice two bags of food and a small box of an ornament on her desk, realizing they must be the gifts from everyone. She then laughed and said, “There’s no need to go out specially. I didn’t bring much, just some local products from our place, nothing expensive.”
The money didn’t matter; it was the thought that counted.

“No, I insist on treating. If you guys don’t go, then I won’t accept the gifts you brought.” Tian Yu asserted.
“Fine, if you want to treat, go ahead! Seeing how generous you are, you must have received a good amount of New Year’s money. We might as well help you spend a bit,” Xue Xian teased.
“Then it’s settled,” Tian Yu confirmed, then looked in Sheng Ning’an’s direction, “and let’s invite Mr. Xu as well.”
