Sheng Ning’an: "Is your relationship very good? Does she like you, or do you like her? Or do both of you like each other?"
"Stop!" Xu Weiran called out in confusion, "What are you talking about? What do you mean, she likes me, I like her? Who told you that we have a good relationship?"
"I don’t know where you heard her name from, but my relationship with her is just average, just ordinary classmates. If you don’t believe me, you can ask your Young Uncle."
"My Young Uncle knows her too?" Sheng Ning’an was stunned.
Xu Weiran: "She was a student in our Youth Class, and the only girl, but she went abroad right after graduating from college. Where exactly did you hear that our relationship was unusual?"
"Are you serious?" Sheng Ning’an frowned, sensing something was off.
Xu Weiran was amused and laughed, not knowing where this girl heard a name and then came to question him.

"Of course," he said, "Before I met you, all I had in my heart was experiments. Zhao Ying’an, Shen Ying’an, they have nothing to do with me at all. Listen carefully, from the beginning to end, the only person I’ve ever liked is you. Before you, there was no one else."
Sheng Ning’an realized she should have been deceived by Shi Yue.
After all, with Young Uncle around, Xu Weiran shouldn’t be lying about this, otherwise, she would find out everything once she asks.
Not to mention, if there really was such a person, Young Uncle wouldn’t keep it from her.

"So what’s this all about?" Xu Weiran sensed something fishy in between.
He wanted to know who was spouting nonsense in front of her, and what exactly did they say?
Sheng Ning’an recounted how Shi Yue swapped her water, possibly drugged her drink, mentioned Shen Ying’an, and referred to her as Shen’s substitute.
Xu Weiran listened quietly, but didn’t blame Sheng Ning’an.
If he weren’t involved, he might have believed it too.
"It’s not true," he said, "I have nothing to do with Shen Ying’an, and you two are completely different types. There’s no substitute situation."
"What kind of person is she?" Sheng Ning’an pursued the question.
Xu Weiran opened his mouth, about to answer, then suddenly realized this might be a trap. The words swirled on his tongue and finally came out, "Just a very ordinary girl, at most her intelligence is higher than most people’s. You know, top students mostly don’t look great, I’ve pretty much forgotten what she looks like."
"Is that really so?" Sheng Ning’an felt Xu Weiran wasn’t being completely honest.
But never mind, she could ask Young Uncle later to verify if Xu Weiran was really telling the truth.
Turns out, Sheng Yeli couldn’t recall who Shen Ying’an was and what she looked like, even after thinking for a long time.
His Young Uncle never paid attention to people and matters outside of experiments.
Probably didn’t even notice how many students were in the class, how many boys and girls there were.
Luckily, the Youth Class’s graduation photo was kept by them.
The girl in the photo didn’t look ordinary at all; not only was she not ordinary, she was quite pretty, confident, and graceful, with determined eyes, clearly a smart and thoughtful girl.
The only relief was that she didn’t look like Sheng Ning’an at all.
