After settling everything, Xu Lin said goodbye to the landlord and returned to the new rental house with Rong Xiyi.
"Xu Lin, you’re amazing!"
Rong Xiyi had a look of admiration on her face.
Xu Lin said, "Originally, the rent was forty thousand; now it’s thirty thousand. We cut down ten thousand; that’s one hundred and twenty thousand a year."
"Xu Lin, I’ll transfer the money to you. You just transferred one hundred eighty thousand to that landlord."
"Don’t bother, consider it my contribution."
At the duplex, Rong Xiyi bought things including a computer host, totaling over ten thousand.
Rong Xiyi still wanted to transfer money to Xu Lin.
"Keep it. If you really want to repay me, let’s call it by something else of equal value, pay me back with something tangible later."
"Xu Lin, you’re so dirty!"

Rong Xiyi hugged Xu Lin’s right arm and looked at him, "Xu Lin, my mom is coming this afternoon, we’ll stay here tonight!"
Xu Lin thought it through and had no problem with it; last time Ms. Ren came, they stayed in a hotel.
"Xu Lin, let’s tidy up the house together and then go buy some stuff!"
Rong Xiyi was full of enthusiasm, she didn’t usually like cleaning, but now she wanted to do it.
"No need, I’ll call a few housekeepers."
The house was over two hundred and thirty square meters, and since it hadn’t been lived in, every nook and cranny needed cleaning.
But Xu Lin didn’t want to clean himself. In their financially comfortable situation, they might as well purchase services and enjoy convenience.
Xu Lin contacted the property management, who called up three housekeepers. Xu Lin paid them each five hundred, so they cleaned every corner, every window, floor, and did a complete house clean-up. The housekeepers were very diligent.
It only took over an hour and they didn’t need to worry at all.
Once the cleaning was done, it was just eleven in the morning.
"Xu Lin, let’s go to Sam’s Supermarket to buy things!"
It was the same Sam’s Supermarket as last time.
The two of them roamed in the supermarket for an hour; having the experience from last time made it easier this time, without having to search everywhere. Rong Xiyi bought over forty thousand worth of items, food, and supplies, everything was covered. The more expensive items like the oven, costing thousands per unit, made up the bulk. These appliances took up most of the money, and later the supermarket’s delivery person sent the goods over.
Xu Lin and Rong Xiyi returned home around two in the afternoon. Shortly after they got back, all the items from Sam’s Supermarket were delivered to their door.

Xu Lin checked the time and messaged Ms. Ren.
"I’ll arrive in Jiangdu in half an hour."
Ms. Ren replied via voice message, "Where are you? Should I pick you up at the school?"
She was driving today, having left at eight in the morning, from the provincial city to Jiangdu, taking about seven hours, arriving at Jiangdu around three in the afternoon.
But this was just reaching the boundaries of Jiangdu. It’s a sizable city, requiring further driving to reach downtown.
Xu Lin replied via voice too, "Find a place to eat first, I’ll send you the address later."
"Xu Lin, is mom almost here?"
Rong Xiyi, who was making the bed, quickly came out when she heard Xu Lin speak.
"Almost, probably after more than an hour, you’ll see her."
Xu Lin sent a restaurant address to Ms. Ren, planning to meet and have a meal there later.

"Nervous about what? Haven’t you already got along well?"

Xu Lin’s place had five rooms, three of which had beds, the other two were empty.
One was Ms. Ren’s; whenever she came to Jiangdu, she’d use this room, currently being prepared by Rong Xiyi. One was Xu Lin and Rong Xiyi’s room, no need to explain, this was the master bedroom, with a private shower and toilet inside. The third room was for guests; sometimes when Xia Xiyao comes over, she can sleep in this room.
The last two rooms were empty, and Xu Lin planned to turn one into a gym. He hadn’t exercised properly for a while, and his stats needed improvement.
For the next half hour or so, Xu Lin and Rong Xiyi were arranging the house.
And Ms. Ren mentioned she was entering the boundaries of Jiangdu.
"Head to this restaurant, we’ll be on our way."
"I’ll drive over then!" Ms. Ren replied.
In fact, the restaurant was not far from Xu Lin’s community, just about a twenty-minute walk.
"Let’s go, we’re heading out!"
Xu Lin said to Rong Xiyi, who was getting dressed up.
"Xu Lin, do I look good today?"
"You already look great, stop dawdling."
Xu Lin added, "Also, lay off the makeup, just light touches will do, don’t let your skin turn bad like an old witch when you age."

Rong Xiyi defiantly proclaimed.
"Saying such nonsense repeatedly is meaningless. Aging is a natural rule; your future is an old grandma, and mine is an old man, these are predictable facts."
