"Yes, he is on the way down." Gu Rong answered her.
But then Uncle Jian was already walking down the stairs, directly followed by an elegant man with a walking stick who once again looked uncannily familiar.
But God, she didn't know why. Tough, he resembled Rong Rong.
The master of the seven treasures, Rong's father?
It would explain the familiarity.
But a smile appeared on her face as she grinned and raised her hand in a mock salute. "Hey, Teach."
"Yin, what did you do with your arm?" He thundered and marched towards her.
She pouted, "Not even a hello before we get to that." She muttered and hugged him back as she found herself in a tight embrace, her feet lifting off the ground.
"Sure, you get a hello, but first, you will have to tell me what happened to your arm. This will put your career as a spirit master and an artist in great danger."
She was put back on the ground. "Would you believe me if I said I got into a brawl with a god?"
"I would not put it past you, but please tell me you didn't." He said, and she started giggling.
"No, worried I did not brawl a god. It was more like a life-saving measure. Basically, it was my arm or my life. I picked the latter and now I am one arm short." She shrugged. "It's a bother to be honest, did you know most clothes are not made to be put on with one arm. I am having real trouble with that, and imagine all the stuff that suddenly grows tricky, and my drawings suck. At least my writing is no longer completely illegible. I learned how to swim, to fly, broke through level 50, got my fifth spirit ring, and passed my first sea god exams. Lots of stuff happened."
"Sounds exciting. You have to give me all the details later, but first let me introduce you." He turned around. "Fengzhi, this is my student I told you about, and Tang Sans's sister. Tang Yin, a marvelous growing swordswoman artist and spirit master. She is also the vice master of the Tang Sect and the little girl I could hardly be prouder of."
At the same time, he patted her head, careful not to make a mess out of her hair. Tang Yin felt a warm tingle inside her. Never had anyone praised her ; he didn't call her a monster or a talent, but just a student, and he even thought about adding her drawings and art to it.
"It's an honor to meet you, Master Ning." She said, and he smiled, stretching out his hand.
"The honor is all mine, Miss Tang. I have heard many great things about you from my daughter, your brother, and Chen Xin alike." He said with a warm smile on his face. She felt a bit like standing in front of a friendly fox. In that moment, she knew she would never be keen on getting on Ning Fengzhi's bad side.
No wonder Feng's mom named him Feng. She wanted her child to be strong and intelligent like him.
Feng did both, but probably not in the way her mom had imagined.
"I hope they didn't overdo it." She answered and then thanked with a quick wave the guy who had led her, who seemed to want to very much vanish from the attention.
He nodded and then made a beeline through the people who had gathered.
"If you'd like to, you can accompany me. I am on the way to see my daughter, and your brother will certainly be present too." Ning Fengzhi said, and Tang Yin nodded.
"Sure, that would be great." She said and smiled. "Just one question, do I need a spirit master ID to enter the contestant's place?"
"Yes." He nodded. "We can pass by and pick up yours if you do not have it on hand." He did sound a bit surprised, and Tang Yin shot a helping glance at Chen Xin. Who suddenly seemed as if it dawned upon him.
"Fengzhi. I believe what little Yin wanted to say is that she does not have a spirit master ID as a Clan Spirit Master. I assume it was because you were awoken clan internally. The same way Rong Rong was." He explained, and Ning Fengzhi nodded in understanding.
"Never mind then. I will simply inform them that you are an honored friend...they are not so strict about such a regulation. But I did not think that such a small Sect like Tang would have such a practice."
"Well, it was just how fate decided it." She said with a smile, the corners of which were awkward on her lips. "No can do. Also, since I was a literary student until middle school, it was never necessary, and I find it troubling to admit. I always forgot to get one."
"How did you enter the city then?" Fengzhi asked her with a curious tone and a gleam of mischief in his eyes. She grinned back.
"I see, I see. Curious indeed. Miss Tang, you are becoming more interesting by the minute. You also intend to watch tomorrow's battery. It is the last one. Shrek against Spirit Hall."
"Yes, of course." She smiled at him. "I would not miss it for the world."
