Chapter 4: He’s No Good Behind His Back

“Enough, don’t say anymore! Let him explain to me clearly, can I be the same as those men? I’m a woman!”
And not just any woman.
Who was she? She was the red-hot star of the entertainment industry, bearing the weight of countless halos and just as many people’s pressures.
So many people were watching her, jealous of her, and what she was really afraid of was being recognized and then taken advantage of in her vulnerability, possibly even having nude photos taken.
So much for the great Captain, the great Captain— who knows what he’s really like behind the scenes.
The more Wen Xian thought about it, the more inappropriate it felt, angering her to the point her complexion turned greenish.
And just then, speaking of the devil, the devil appeared.
“You were looking for me.”
Just then, a voice came from outside the door, clear and devoid of any emotion.
The man appeared at the door, accompanied by a very young man who followed behind, peering around curiously.
Wen Xian was startled by the voice, and turned her head to look over as she sat sideways on the bed.
There the man stood, tall and slender, with an imposing height. He wore a windbreaker and black pants, and just standing there, he exuded a silent and severe aura.
The collar of his windbreaker was upright, the zipper pulled to the top, pressed against his Adam’s apple, obscurely blocking some kind of mark.
The exposed sharp edge of his Adam’s apple oddly gave off a certain asceticism.
He—was the man who had taken off his own clothes!?
Lu Xiao glanced at her and then said to the Tibetan woman caring for her, “Mother, you can go out first.”
“Alright, Captain Lu, I’ll go to the mess hall and cook for you now.”
After the Tibetan mother left, Lu Xiao walked in, and the young man followed, closing the door as he turned around.
Wen Xian’s face changed slightly, “What are you doing? Why close the door!?”
She glared at him intently, the grievances of her car accident, her injuries, and him seeing her naked—she hadn’t settled any of these accounts with him yet!
Lu Xiao’s eyes and brows were exceptionally elongated, deep and dark. He walked towards her step by step. The room was already small, and with his tall and upright figure, the space suddenly felt cramped.
His gaze fixed on her as if he were interrogating her, “We found that your car passed through an uninhabited area’s forbidden zone. What were you doing there!?”
As he spoke, a chilling air began to swell around him.
Upon hearing this, Wen Xian first looked him up and down carefully, then couldn’t help but snort, “Do you even know what you’re doing? Are you here to inquire about my personal privacy? Who are you to me? Why should I tell you anything?”
At her words, the young man immediately stepped forward and said, “Miss, please take this seriously and cooperate with our work. Otherwise, we will have to consider you a suspect of illegally stealing state secrets and take you to a specialized interrogation area. It won’t be as pleasant as talking with us.”
However, as Sang Nian was saying this, he looked at the woman on the bed with two rounds of gauze wrapped around her forehead, her long hair loose, dressed in their oversized red Tibetan robe…
The more he looked, the more something seemed amiss…?
This woman, how come… she looks somewhat familiar.
As the blood remnants on her face had been wiped clean, he felt even more a sense of recognition.
As soon as Wen Xian heard what he said, her eyes widened, and then she burst into mocking laughter, “Have you gone mad!? Label me as a suspect of stealing state secrets!?”
It wasn’t that she was flaunting her identity, but she found it utterly ridiculous and defamatory. How could she, a public figure, possibly commit any illegal crimes?
Affected by the accident they caused and to be treated as a criminal, the injustice overwhelmed her, but her words came out as if she were using her position to bully them, “Please open your eyes wide and see who I am. I am—”
