Chapter 77: Chapter 77: Lu Xiao, I’ve Dirtied You
Wen Xian was treated violently by him; when her back slammed against the wall with a thud, she winced in pain and groaned, “What are you doing? You’re hurting me…!”
She tried to push him away, but both her arms were firmly pinned down by his hands, trapped at both sides of her head, as if nailed; she couldn’t move at all.
Lu Xiao’s eyes, however, seemed to accumulate rolling dark clouds, ominously dark: “Pain? You know pain now!? You, a woman who isn’t even afraid of death, would you actually be afraid of pain!?”
Wen Xian was pinned down firmly, her face alternating between white and red as she turned her head aside and gritted her teeth, “This is different, you can’t generalize!”
Lu Xiao suddenly scoffed sarcastically, his coarse fingers forcing her chin to make her look into his eyes, his chest gently heaving as he spoke:
“Why…? Wen Xian, do you even know what you are doing!? Did you think your few kicks qualify you to show up here? You have your own life, why on earth must you meddle in these murky waters!? You could die, do you realize that? Really die!! Have you even thought about it—!!”
Accompanied by a roar he could no longer hold back, he fiercely punched the wall beside her head.
He was like a completely enraged beast, the veins on the side of his neck prominently showing!
The roaring caused Wen Xian’s ears to buzz, nearly deafening her; unable to save face, she simply closed her eyes and lowered her gaze.
She was a superstar with boundless glamour, able to command wind and rain, with investments everywhere and more money than she could spend; a life many could only dream of having in their entire lives.
Yet, disregarding her own safety, she had rushed in to find him upon hearing gunshots.
What exactly was she doing.
Her eyelashes fluttered slightly, then slowly opened her eyes again, Wen Xian looked at Lu Xiao’s enraged, stern eyes, lightly twitched her lips, and let out a faint smile, masking the complexity deep within her heart.
“Right, you ask me, I also don’t know why I did that.”
“I just can’t stand to see you dead, I guess. I fear your death.”
Lu Xiao’s enraged pupils shrank, his body froze.
It seemed as if his breath halted, and his heart stopped beating.
Yet Wen Xian laughed, looking at him, yes, afraid of his death, unable to stand seeing him die.
Just candidly stating it.
After all, he was a good man, his goodness highlighted her own inferiorities, inadequacies, darkness.
He was like a strong beam of light, tirelessly attempting to dispel the darkness of this world.
She had lived in a twisted and bizarre dark world for too long, far too long.

So when she met him, and saw his integrity and high ideals, she found it ridiculously ironic.
But later, she realized he wasn’t just all talk; he was truly upright and genuinely using his strength to protect the world by crushing the forces of evil.
She, like a clown hidden in darkness, disdained yet uncontrollably attracted to that light, wanted to try that light but didn’t know how to approach, only able to rely on primal instinct.
Watching Lu Xiao freeze completely, his enraged eyes gazing at her.
