Qiao Qing was dragged away for two steps when she felt a grip on her other wrist. All of a sudden, she was being held by two men.
Jun Yexuan looked over to Feng Heng, “Let go!”
Feng Heng’s eyes were cold, “Jun Yexuan, get out of my way!”
Jun Yexuan coldly snickered and his lips curled up, “You think I am a weak herbivore?!”
The bodyguards for these two noticed the tension and reached for the weapon tucked in their belts. The atmosphere immediately changed.
He Wanqing watched this scene in awe, “You kids, don’t fight!”
Qiao Qing instantly flung those two people’s hands off of her, “if you want to fight, fight outside.”
Then, she walked away coldly.
Staring at Qiao Qing’s back as she walked away, Jun Yexuan tugged at her collar, “Today is Qingqing’s coming of age party. I’m not going to make a scene. After tonight, whether you want to duel or have a gang fight, I’ll join you.”
Then, he no longer paid attention to Feng Heng and chased after Qiao Qing.
After a few steps, a man in black landed before him and in a whisper, informed him of Qiao Nian and Gao Meng’s plan.
Jun Yexuan’s gaze turned cold and he emitted killer’s intent, “You can leave.”
When Qiao Qing got home, Lang Yin appeared beside her. He too, let Qiao Qing know of Qiao Nian and Gao Meng’s intentions.
Qiao Qing was too lazy to even make a face. She nodded, “Alright.”
After Jun Yexuan got back, he headed straight for Qiao Qing’s room.
He knocked but nobody answered so he went back to his room.
When he saw the necklace quietly placed on his desk, Jun Yexuan’s heart dropped.
He grabbed the necklace and went to look for Qiao Qing in the next room.
She wasn’t in the study either but he realized that the zither was gone.
Inside the City of Brisk hospital.
Room 2701.
When Qiao Qing arrived, it was 10 pm exactly.
At the first sight of Qiao Qing, the nurse smiled and took out a gift box.
“I knew Ms. Qiao would be coming. This is your birthday gift from the hospital director. Ms. Qiao, happy birthday!”
Qiao Qing took over the box and said, “Thank you. And thank him for me.”
Then, she entered the room with her zither.
She looked at the silent man who was lying in bed for a long while. Then, she placed the zither onto the table. Lifting up her skirt and sat down.
She tried to play a note, then said with her eyes looking down, “You said, you would plan the most extravagant party on the day I turn 18. You said you would make everyone in the city jealous of your little princess, but you broke your promise.”
“I cannot break my promise, so I brought the zither to you.”
“I haven’t played for a few years so don’t mind me if I’m not good anymore. Even if I suck, don’t say anything.”
When she said the word “say”, her fingers froze. Then, slowly, she placed them gently on top of the zither strings.
Low and beautiful music notes pitter-pattered like rain as she moved her fingers. The sound of the music echoed throughout the eerily quiet room.
In a bar across from the hospital.
Jun Yexuan watched through his binocular with his body petrified like a sculpture.
“Third brother, what’s wrong? What did you see? Why did sister-in-law go to the hospital? Is someone sick?”
Mu Jinghang tried to climb onto his shoulder, “let me look too.”
“Get out.”
Mu Jinghang, “Huh?”
Jun Yexuan glared at him, “I said, get out!”
“Okay, okay, okay, I’m going. I’m going now!”
Mu Jinghang escaped the room in a hurry. He patted his chest has he leaned against the closed door.
Was it his hallucination? Why did he think he saw redness in his third brother’s eyes?
Inside the room, Jun Yexuan gulped. His heart ached so much he lost composure.
Though he couldn’t hear, he knew how to read lips. He knew exactly what Qiao Qing had said.
