Since Xu Yisen agreed to have Bruce stay at his place and take care of him for a day, Qin Muni naturally pressed the button for the 17th floor after entering the elevator.
When the elevator ascended from the underground parking lot to the lobby on the first floor, it slowly opened its doors with a ding.
Qin Muni gently stroked the Bruce in her arms, and as she slightly curved her lips and looked outside the elevator, the smile at the corner of her mouth slightly froze, and a hint of coolness rose between her picturesque brows.
The woman outside the elevator was dressed very simply yet elegantly, with a small face framed by a pair of black sunglasses covering most of her face. If Qin Muni wasn’t so familiar with her, she probably wouldn’t have recognized her at a glance.
When Xia Yuge saw Qin Muni inside the elevator, the smile on her face similarly froze. The next moment, she stepped into the elevator, intending to press the floor button, but quickly withdrew her hand upon seeing the 17th-floor button lit.
"Looks like Yu Ge is also going to see Yisen." Qin Muni gently parted her red lips, casting a sidelong glance at Xia Yuge, whose lips were tightly pressed.
Xia Yuge’s face was mostly hidden by her sunglasses, making it difficult to see her expression or the emotions in her eyes.
She nodded, "Munni, you’ve been divorced from Yisen for so long, yet the lingering entanglement is truly surprising."
"Don’t be surprised. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll remarry Yisen. Now that would be surprising."
The remark seemed casual but was laced with a provocation that drove Xia Yuge crazy.
The previous humiliation at the banquet, and Qin Muni later being surrounded by reporters when she said, "Xia Yuge poses no threat to me," was undoubtedly a disdainful provocation to her.
The anger that Xia Yuge had been suppressing suddenly erupted after Qin Muni nonchalantly mentioned the topic of remarrying Xu Yisen.
She reached up to remove the sunglasses from her face and turned around to face Qin Muni directly.
"Munni, are you declaring war on me?" As she asked, her smile carried a hint of malice and grimness, and her eyes, usually bright, were now covered with heavy clouds, deep and terrifying.
"Woof woof woof." Sensing the dangerous atmosphere, Bruce in Qin Muni’s arms fiercely barked at Xia Yuge.
Qin Muni gently soothed Bruce’s fur, calming its sudden nervous and agitated state.
"If you think so, it is." Her voice was calm, and her expression was unruffled, clearly not caring about the angered Xia Yuge in front of her.
Xia Yuge reined in the hostile aura around her, with an inscrutable smile playing at the corners of her lips. Her eyes, as she stared at Qin Muni, gradually misted over with a trace of mystery.
She put the sunglasses back on her nose, the large frames hiding most of her face, with only a faintly strange smile visible at the corners of her red lips.
Qin Muni glanced at her, not paying any mind to her or her words, still gently soothing Bruce in her arms.
The elevator reached the 17th floor, and the door opened with a ding.
Xia Yuge was the first to exit the elevator, while Qin Muni remained still, showing no intention of leaving.
"Yu Ge, I heard you’re going to star in Director Chen’s new movie?"
As Xia Yuge stepped out, Qin Muni’s voice, tinged with amusement, came from behind.
She paused in her steps, slightly turned to glance at Qin Muni’s arrogant smile within the elevator.
"I heard they’re still looking for sponsors for this movie. I’m sure Yisen would agree to invest, after all, he was the one who made you famous."
