Standing at the door, about to enter the password, Munni turned her head with an expression as if she’d seen a ghost when she heard Yisen’s words. She couldn’t help but roll her eyes and answered casually, "Initiating a greeting with my ex-husband is quite beneath me."
After entering a series of numbers into the lock, the door beeped and automatically unlocked.
One of Munni’s hands was on the doorknob, and just as she was about to turn it to open the door, her hand suddenly froze.
"You haven’t said what you are here to do?" She looked at Yisen again, with a pair of beautiful peach blossom eyes filled with inquiry.
Munni clearly saw that Yisen was bluffing, but she didn’t call him out, just nodded indifferently, "Oh, do you have anything else? If not, I’m going in first."
Yisen thought for a long time, but couldn’t come up with a reason to stay.
A moment later, he slowly spoke, "I’m hungry."
"Drive out of the community, turn right, pass the traffic light, turn left; there’s a porridge shop you like."
Yisen paused, lazily raised his eyelids and glanced at Munni, "Troublesome."
With those words, he gently put his arm around Munni’s shoulder, moved her slightly to the side of the door, then released her, reaching out to turn the doorknob, open the door, and walked in unceremoniously.
Munni stood in place, dumbly staring at the already open door and the figure that had entered the house.
After a while, she came to her senses and hurriedly stepped inside, while by then Yisen had already changed his shoes at the entrance and went into the living room.
When Munni also finished changing her shoes and reached the living room, Yisen’s figure was nowhere to be seen, only his overcoat, recently taken off and tossed on the sofa, remained.
Munni paused for a few seconds, then headed towards the kitchen.
Wearing an apron, Yisen was washing vegetables at the sink. Upon hearing footsteps, he looked up with gentle eyes at Munni, and said, "There’s nothing in the fridge, haven’t you been eating properly these days?"
Munni shrugged indifferently, walked to the fridge, opened the door, and indeed, as Yisen had said, there was hardly anything inside.
After glancing around at the contents of the fridge, she reached in to take out an apple and then closed the fridge door.
"How’s the restaurant plan we spoke about last time coming along?"
Munni approached the sink, and Yisen took the apple from her hand, kindly washed it for her, and handed it back.
"I’ve already asked someone to find a shopfront."
"Have you found a suitable place?"
"I’ve got my eye on one location, but I need to discuss further with the landlord."
Yisen placed the washed vegetables on the chopping board, looked up at Munni who was leisurely munching on her apple nearby, and said, "I can help you."
Munni’s apple-biting interrupted, she pouted, "What’s your condition?"
"People say you have a keen eye, and no matter what project you invest in, it succeeds. So, are you insisting on investing because you have keen eyes that recognize my potential?"
Munni quipped playfully, and deliberately tucked her hair behind her ear, pretending to be bashful.
Amused by her antics, Yisen chuckled, his lips curving slightly, and his deep sea-like eyes quickly rippled with gentleness.
"Yes, so will you allow me to uncover this gem?"
Almost instantly, Munni shook her head in refusal, "Denied."
Yisen raised his eyebrows slightly, withdrew his gaze from Munni, and adeptly continued chopping the vegetables.
And Munni, of course, could see from his eyes that he was wondering why she wouldn’t allow it.
