Qin Muni’s congratulatory words made Liu RanYe’s face stiffen, and the elevator descended into an eerie silence.
Qin Muni, as if oblivious to any misstep in her words, continued, "I heard his girlfriend works in a bar? After changing so many girlfriends, it’s about time Ah Ze settled down."
Catching a glimpse of Liu Ranye’s increasingly unpleasant expression, Qin Muni smirked coldly in her heart, lowering her gaze slightly to look at the floor.
Sometimes she wondered, with Liu RanYe’s own family in such disarray, how did he still have the mind to mock others’ family affairs? Was it to find balance from others, to distract himself from his own mess, or simply to belittle others?
The elevator soon reached its destination, the doors slowly opened to reveal Tang Haoliang, who had been waiting for some time.
Tang Haoliang respectfully bowed slightly towards the two inside the elevator, and politely said, "Miss Qin, please follow me."
Qin Muni nodded gently, took a step forward, then halted slowly, turning slightly to gaze, smiling, at Liu RanYe who remained standing.
She parted her crimson lips, speaking with an amiable demeanor, "Uncle, when Ah Ze’s child is born, don’t forget to notify me. I’ll definitely visit personally to congratulate you with a grand gift."
Liu RanYe’s face twisted indescribably at Qin Muni’s words, but Qin Muni, as if oblivious, walked away confidently in her high heels.
Tang Haoliang followed closely behind her, only drawing nearer once sure Liu Ranye couldn’t see them, asking softly, "Miss Qin, did Mr. Liu give you any trouble?"
Upon hearing his words, Qin Muni let out a faint laugh, "Give me trouble? He doesn’t qualify."
Tang Haoliang paused slightly, his step faltering a bit, looking up to see Qin Muni walking gracefully ahead, exuding elegance and poise.
For a moment, he wondered why the chairman divorced Miss Qin. Was it because of Xia Yuge? Xia Yuge’s demeanor was too vulgar, not as dignified and gracious as Miss Qin.
Coming back to his senses, Tang Haoliang quickened his pace to catch up with Qin Muni.
At the conference room entrance stood two bodyguards, who bowed slightly in greeting as Qin Muni arrived, then opened the conference room doors from either side.
A number of directors were already gathered inside the conference room, with nearly twenty minutes remaining until the meeting commenced.
Tang Haoliang led Qin Muni to the seat marked with her name, then respectfully said, "Miss Qin, please have a seat."
Hardly had Qin Muni sat down when another secretary respectfully approached, serving her favorite honey grapefruit tea.
Twenty minutes later, once all the directors had arrived, the conference room doors opened again.
Xu Yisen, clad in a royal blue suit, walked steadily into the conference room, his deep gaze swiftly scanning the room before seating himself at the head of the table.
The host stood at the podium, enthusiastically delivering a welcome speech and briefly introducing the board meeting’s agenda.
Qin Muni initially had her eyes on the host, but unconsciously shifted her gaze towards Xu Yisen seated at the head position.
Her mind inexplicably replayed disjointed memories of the night two days ago, when she was drunk and engaged with Xu Yisen.
