Chu Tianying curled his lips, "Still no go!"
Seeing that the guy was about to get angry, Chu Tianying quickly let up, "Ah, boss, I wasn’t asking her out for that mission, but because I needed her help with something else, and also needed her father’s assistance to establish a connection, so please, help me out."
"Not for that mission, are you sure?"

That slap was dodged by Chu Tianying.
The chosen place was a very ordinary yet quite special coffee shop. It was ordinary because there were many coffee shops seen along the way here; the number of stores in this area is quite substantial. It was special because only this cafe is located by the canal, where sitting by the window not only allows sunbathing but also offers a more comfortable sight of the outside canal and the white boats on the river.
Nepal enjoys a spring-like climate all year round, warm except for a few areas backed against the Himalayas which are cold. Most regions have a subtropical monsoon climate and due to the influence of the Indian Ocean currents, the seasonal temperature differences aren’t significant, making it a very livable country.
While it was supposed to be a meal, it ended up being just two cups of coffee. When tipping, Ye Tian saw Jenny give only one dollar to the handsome waiter, really stingy.
Knowing Ye Tian’s habit of spending money generously, Chu Tianying said, "Although she’s the daughter of the Ministry of Commerce’s official, she has always been self-sufficient and is not a spoiled child."
"Haven’t you thought about what I do? Isn’t gathering intelligence before heading out our forte? Psh!"
Ye Tian suddenly glared at him, and Chu Tianying stopped talking all at once.
That was a big taboo. Walls have ears, who knows if the information could be inadvertently leaked. Chu Tianying realized he had misspoken.
Looking around, apart from a man and a woman drinking coffee behind him, other people were quite far away.
Fortunately, no suspicious targets, but just as Ye Tian was about to retract his gaze, he noticed a person wearing a blue baseball cap, head down, drinking coffee, sitting opposite him were two Caucasians, a man and a woman, appearing very intimate.
"What are you talking about? Is the coffee here not good?"
Jenny saw the two looking back and thought they were dissatisfied with her arrangement. She was not foolish and could tell that Ye Tian was actually not interested in her invitation; he only came because he was brought by the person next to him.
"No, we were just thinking about enjoying the scenery here. This is my last country to visit in Asia, so I must get a good look and keep some memories. I am a backpacker, but I don’t want to just store the scenery in a camera, but here."
Ye Tian pointed to his head, then to his heart.
Chu Tianying almost couldn’t help but burst out laughing. This kid was really putting on an act. Where on earth did he pick up such tricks to deceive the girl?
Sure enough, Jenny stopped dwelling on their previous behavior and started quizzing Ye Tian eagerly about his travels. Especially when he mentioned picking up centuries-old fossils in Yellowstone National Park in the United States, it even elicited a gasp of astonishment from Jenny. If Ye Tian hadn’t managed to calm her excitement, the girl probably would have jumped up in joy.
Regardless of whether Chu Tianying had something to say, the conversation that followed was dominated by Ye Tian talking with Jenny, until around noon when Chu Tianying interjected, "Should we grab some lunch?"
Ye Tian quickly agreed, "Yes, yes, we should eat. After talking so much, I’m starving." He was quite worn out. This kid talked too much. It was truly like dealing with children, his reputation as a children’s ambassador was well deserved.
From their conversation, Ye Tian also learned that Jenny was the vice president of the Nepal International Children’s Fund branch. However, due to issues related to embezzlement of the donations, her activities were under inspection. According to her own words, she was eager to quit her position as the restrictions and invisible barriers within the organization were hampering her work, especially her contact with children. During donation time, although initially receiving ten million, in the end, they could only one hundred thousand worth of toys and books to the orphanages. This vast disconnect with the children was unbearable for Jenny; inspection or not, it suited her just fine.
The person who interacted well with children, however, was not that smooth with general social interactions and even struggled with timing for meals and coffee. Upon hearing Ye Tian mention lunch, she remembered that she was supposed to treat them to a meal.
Rushing to stand up, Jenny said, "I’m sorry, It was agreed that I was going to treat you. Sorry to keep you waiting. Let’s go now."
Ye Tian gave Chu Tianying a look, who quickly caught on and said, "Miss Jenny, you don’t need to bother this time. We have some things to handle this afternoon. How about tonight? We are free tonight, and there will be more time to chat. Aren’t you interested in South America? We just came back from there, and he can share more with you in detail."
Ye Tian glared at him, What a disgrace! Why do you have to drag me into your mess!
"Really! Then I’ll wait for you here tonight! Promise, don’t stand me up! Bye!"
It was as if Jenny had heard some great news; her expression bright as if she had snatched some candy. In a flash, she was gone.
With her gone, things got easier to talk about. Ye Tian, uninterested in discussing with Chu Tianying, glanced at a man in a baseball cap behind them. Chu Tianying took a look at him and immediately sensed something was off, "One species?"
Ye Tian nodded, "Not just one species, this guy seems to be planning to make some money off us. Damn, he’s gone!"
Chu Tianying turned to look and sure enough, the man had disappeared.
The two hurriedly chased after him, outside was crowded with people; it was the peak of lunch hour. When cars even get stuck in traffic, let alone people. The two didn’t squeeze into the crowd but slowly made their way in a direction. They didn’t speak this time, the entire situation had been too peculiar. They kept a distance of at least five or six meters from each other. How had that conversation, spoken in such a low voice, seemed to have been overheard by someone?
