Ye Tian wasn’t worried about being unable to track that person down; he had marked the guy, after all. For such a small fry, he’d lost interest and kept teasing the young girl, Xiaoqian.
A while later, after Xiaoqian had shooed others away, Ye Tian walked inside to look for the person.
As soon as Ye Tian entered, he saw countless men and women dancing under dim lights, giving him a sense of living a dreamlike life. At this moment, he couldn’t help but think of Tang Su.
Chuckling at himself, Ye Tian quickly found the man. He was drinking with a few guys of similar size.
“What are you staring at me for?” Perhaps because Ye Tian had looked at him a bit too long, the man pointed at himself and chided with impoliteness.
But the music inside was too loud, and his voice quickly drowned in the beats.
Ye Tian watched the man with a half-smile, looking young and naive with his colorful dyed hair, dressed in designer labels, carrying himself with an arrogant air—probably the son of some rich guy or official.
It seemed he’d been overthinking. He shrugged and turned to leave.
“Stop right there!” The man grabbed Ye Tian’s shoulder, and the three others immediately blocked his path.
It looked like things wouldn’t end peacefully today.
Feeling the tense atmosphere, several black-clad folks appeared swiftly. Ye Tian couldn’t help but admire their professional behavior.
“Let’s take it outside,” Ye Tian suggested.
Ye Tian nodded at the men in black—knowing the trade, he didn’t want to give them trouble—and strode out.
The four young men stood in the parking lot, each warming up as if ready to give Ye Tian a beating, but he didn’t take them seriously, continuing to flirt with Xiaoqian as he left.
“Yeah, got some other stuff to deal with.” Ye Tian’s gaze drifted to the four youths.
“They’re trouble,” Xiaoqian said, her face etched with concern.
“That guy with dyed hair is the mayor’s son. Those around him are either rich or official second generations. They’ve always been arrogant. How did you manage to offend them in just a few minutes?”
“It’s fine. If I win today, will you hang out with me tonight?” Ye Tian cheekily overstepped his bounds.
“That’ll depend on your skills.”
“Are you done yet?” The impatient youth called out, suspecting Ye Tian was deliberately stalling. “Think you can call for help?”
“Help?” Ye Tian slowly approached, saying, “You guys are only so old, but dye your hair like turkeys, thinking you can do whatever just because of your daddies!”
“You’re the one relying on your daddy!” The youth hated being told that he depended on his father.
“Then show me what you’ve got. Getting so heated over a look—I suppose your face can’t be seen in public?”
“You’re asking for it!” The youth stopped talking and threw a punch.
Though his punch carried True Qi, evidence of some training, it was unguided and relied solely on brute force.
Ye Tian calmly caught the fist in his open palm, realizing he had been overly cautious.
Embarrassed, the youth had never lost a fight. He knew some feared his father’s power, but mostly he relied on himself—yet this man easily blocked his punch.
“Kid, I apologize for today’s issue; I misjudged the situation,” Ye Tian said, not eager to fight a bunch of kids.
Under the streetlight, the four looked about seventeen or eighteen, each with a defiant demeanor.
“You think you can just apologize and it’s over? I might not even accept your apology!” The youth wanted to regain his pride in front of his friends and started an uncoordinated assault.
Ye Tian didn’t even use his hands, kept them behind his back, and effortlessly dodged every attack.
“Your punches lack discipline; you’re all brute force.” Ye Tian spoke but also sensed that the young man had some innate talent yet undeveloped.
After five minutes of the youth attacking and Ye Tian dodging, the youth was gasping for breath while Ye Tian looked relaxed, continuing to flirt with Xiaoqian at the door.
“You…” The youth was trembling with rage.
Smirking triumphantly, Ye Tian turned to head home and sleep, but then vanished…
“Damn it! Xiaoqian! I’m going to kill you!” Ye Tian, covered from head to toe in sewage and reeking, had fallen into an uncovered manhole.
