The day after the start of autumn was hot, yet as evening breeze blew, it turned rather cool.
Long Fei brought Wang Xiaoya back to his home and upon entering the yard, they saw Lin Shanshan and a few others gathered around eating watermelon.

Little Tiantian, munching on watermelon, blinked her big eyes at Wang Xiaoya and exclaimed, "Uncle Long, you brought back another pretty auntie!"
The group was amused by her and all shared a laugh.
Long Fei cleared his throat and parked his bicycle. He chided Little Tiantian, "Tiantian, kids shouldn’t tell lies! When has your uncle ever brought back a pretty auntie before?"
Wang Xiaoya tugged at him, "Don’t scare the child!"
"I’m not lying, it’s true!"
He Tiantian giggled, stuck out her tongue at Long Fei, and hid in He Yan’s arms.
"Kids say the darndest things, don’t believe her!"
He Yan smiled and invited Wang Xiaoya to sit down, handing her a piece of watermelon.
Wang Xiaoya pulled Long Fei to sit beside her and pinched him hard.
He Yan changed the subject, "Has Xu Dong, the neighbor, moved out? I haven’t seen him in several days."
Long Fei nodded, "Yeah, he found a new girlfriend and they’re renting an apartment together. They’ll probably move out this weekend."
He Yan said, "That’s nice, an apartment is more comfortable than here. Once he’s gone, you’ll need to quickly find someone else to rent the place out to!"
A room goes for five hundred a month.
He Yan had to make arrangements in advance; missing out on one day’s rent is losing money.
Lin Shanshan looked at Long Fei and squinted with a smile, "When are you and Sister Little Ya moving out?"
He Yan glanced at Long Fei, her eyebrows slightly furrowed.
Long Fei took a bite of watermelon and said, "I’m not planning to move out for the time being, it’s quite nice living here."
Wang Xiaoya asserted her rights and followed up, "Right, we’re planning to buy a house, and we’ll move out after the renovations are done."
She said this deliberately for Lin Shanshan and Lin Yingying to hear.
Lin Shanshan remarked, "It’s indeed time to buy, Brother Long is now a major shareholder of the company—buying a villa is just like child’s play to him."

Wang Xiaoya’s heart warmed; having heard those words made her trip tonight worthwhile.
Lin Shanshan unusually didn’t retort and even agreed, "Brother Long, you’re absolutely right. These old men have nothing but feudal thoughts in their heads. What era are we in to still entertain these child betrothal customs? I’m indignant on your behalf."
Long Fei stared at her in astonishment, as from the moment he entered the door, she had been behaving oddly.
Not causing a ruckus was a relief enough, but now she was even speaking in his favor unexpectedly.
She looked at Wang Xiaoya and continued to flatter, "Sister Little Ya, I support you being with Brother Long. Just look, a match of talent and beauty, entirely suited for each other—how can we let the evil clutches of feudalism tear them apart!"
Wang Xiaoya gave a dry laugh and looked just as bewildered.
Long Fei directly said, "Alright, cut the crap. What do you really want?"
Lin Shanshan chuckled wickedly, "Brother Long really gets me, so I’ll just say it straight. We’re about to launch our software, and you know it requires a lot of capital. Anyway, those shares of yours are useless just sitting there, might as well sell them to our company for some investment!"
"Scram, I knew you were up to no good!"
Long Fei gave her a disdainful look and stood up, pulling Wang Xiaoya with him.
He had just been conned out of three million, and before he could even react, she was coveting his shares.
This person was truly a born thief!
The two of them went upstairs, and Lin Shanshan yelled out in a tender voice from below, "If you don’t invest in me, that’s fine, I’ll just go back to grandpa and tell him you want to break off the engagement!"
Long Fei stopped in his tracks and rubbed his head.

Long Fei was so amused by her that he laughed, pulled Wang Xiaoya inside, and quickly closed the door to enjoy some peace and quiet.
Wang Xiaoya asked him, "Are you really going to call off the engagement?"
Long Fei nodded, "I will, but I need to find the right opportunity. Elder Master Lin’s health is frail; I can’t upset him."
Wang Xiaoya bit her lip, joyfully saying, "It’s okay, take your time to resolve it, I’ll give you time."
Long Fei smiled as he touched her head, filled a basin of water for her, and let her start washing up.
Downstairs, Little Tiantian had to get up early for school, and He Yan took her back inside to sleep.
Lin Shanshan and Li Wenwen munched on watermelon, chatting and playing with their phones in the yard.
Li Wenwen couldn’t help but gaze upstairs and ask Lin Shanshan, "What do you think Brother Long and Sister Little Ya are doing now?"
Lin Shanshan, engrossed in her phone, said indifferently, "How would I know."
Li Wenwen, curious, asked her, "Are you really okay with them being together?"
Lin Shanshan put down her phone and frowned at her, "Wenwen, what’s gotten into you today?"
Li Wenwen’s face turned red, "Nonsense, what’s weird about me?"
Lin Shanshan said, "Before, you never seemed so concerned about Brother Long."
Li Wenwen, feeling guilty, said, "Well, I’m just supporting Sister Yingying, aren’t I? Don’t you support your sister?"
Lin Shanshan pursed her lips and replied, "I don’t care about her, whoever gives me money is my sister now."
"You money-grubbing spirit!"

The two sneaked up to the second floor, took off their shoes, and quietly crouched by Long Fei’s door.
Inside the room, the couple was caught in the throes of passion, stormy as the flipping clouds and rain.
For men and women, after the first time, the second comes naturally as a matter of course.
Wang Xiaoya and Long Fei finished washing up and got into bed.
Before Long Fei could make a move, she had already wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him.
