Three days later, Yao Tang held the auction item in her hand as she walked down the steps, exiting the auction house.
Suddenly, her phone rang.
“Where are you, Yao Tang?” Principal Kong asked. “When do you plan on returning?”
Today was the day she was supposed to return.
Yao Tang remembered that she was already a day late. Nodding slowly, she replied, “Don’t worry, I’ll rush back tomorrow.”
“All right.”
Principal Kong heaved a sigh of relief. “In the next few days, a few students would be coming on an exchange program with other schools. It’s best if you come back tomorrow and help me keep a close eye on them.”
Exchange students?
Yao Tang remained unbothered from that. “Okay.”
After chatting with her for a while, Principal Kong hung up the line.
As soon as the call ended, Yao Tang’s phone dinged with another notification. “Don’t divulge any of our secrets. This area is strictly prohibited from outsiders.”
Lin Shuang, who was standing at the side, crossed her arms over her chest. “You’re going back?” she asked, tilting her head.
“Yes.”
She nodded.
Since the matter was done, she naturally wanted to leave.
The reason she had come to an island was due to the treasure being sold at that auction. Someone had entrusted the Shadow League to place the order.
She also had another reason why she wanted to head over to the island. She also wanted to repair the Shadow League’s station on the island.
They had a very important base station on the island, and it was just invaded a couple of days ago. Luckily, the station’s defense system effectively took care of it.

She glanced over at Lin Shuang.
“Oh, please, why don’t you just relax for the next two days?” Lin Shuang rolled her eyes as she leaned against her sofa. “Does it really matter if you go to school or not? You ace every subject anyway?”
The corners of her mouth twitched up into a smile. However, just then, she saw Lin Xin’s numerous messages popping up on her screen.
“Sister Tang, where have you been?”
“I missed you so much! Where did you go?”
“Why can’t I get through to you, Sister Tang? I’ve missed you. Come back quickly!”
“Sister Tang, are you still safe? It’s been hundreds of days. If I didn’t know that you’ve taken a leave of absence, I would’ve been worried to death.”
“Sister Tang, did you know that some exchange students had arrived at our school? There’s this handsome boy I’d like you to see! Come back!”
“Ergh, one of the exchange students wanted to sit in your seat! I chased them away, of course! Come back quickly, I miss you so much.”
In the past few days, Lin Xin had been sending dozens of messages to Yao Tang, and it seemed that the last message she had sent was just fifteen minutes ago.
“Sister Tang,” she said helplessly. “If you don’t come back soon, I’m just going to turn into a rock and wait for your arrival.”
Yao Tang smiled, shaking her head. Glancing up at Lin Shuang, she shrugged. “It matters.”
Taking her luggage, she said her goodbyes to her friend.
However, it seemed that the plane didn’t land at the island’s official airport, but rather in its temporary airport due to special circumstances.
Now that she was heading back, she wasn’t so particular about its landing dock.
Yao Tang walked inside the waiting area and glanced around. There weren’t many people in the airport due to its exclusivity. As such, it was pretty quiet and cold.
However, just when she’s about to board the plane, she heard someone calling out for her.
“Yao Tang! Miss Yao…please wait a moment.”
She paused and glanced back.
Behind her was the island owner’s female assistant. She was carrying a small bag and hurrying toward her in a fray of panic.
Seeing her struggle, she quickly took the bag from the assistant.
While the woman didn’t get a good look on her face, she still couldn’t help but be mesmerized by her detailed jawline. and her bright eyes. She could tell that the passenger was charming.
