If he could just absorb their energy, perhaps he could be as smart as they are.
Fang Hui snapped back to his senses, trying his best not to look at Yao Tangand Yan Yu. He needed to think of something else.
He focused his mind on the person on the stage.
There were so many people who performed on stage, and all of them were incredibly talented. The atmosphere was as bright as the music, and he couldn’t help but be mesmerized.
He was also familiar with quite a lot of people.
After all, there were plenty of people who had already participated in these types of events in the past. However, he also saw some new faces.
He never really looked down on the newbies. After all, they all had their own talents. Besides, the newbies may even surprise even the most expert player.
He was very much looking forward to seeing them play.
And as he saw these new faces playing on the stage, his suspicions were confirmed.
They were indeed very talented.
While they were lacking in experience, they were still quite talented with their own respective instruments. It was truly a wonder to witness their playing.
He frowned.
If it had been based on the previous standards, passing the assessment wouldn’t be much of a problem.
However, so many events have transpired. There were new people who had joined. There were also some old people who had come back with a renewed spirit. How would they do once it’s their turn?
“What do you think of the orchestra that just played?” Yao Tang’s soft voice pulled him back to reality.
“They’re very strong.”
However, just as he had finished speaking, Yao Tang had already turned to Yan Yu. They weren’t looking in his direction. It seemed that they weren’t even talking to him in the first place.
Hearing his words, the two were stunned to silence before the young man shook his head.
“Their performance isn’t bad,” Yan Yu agreed. “But they wouldn’t be able to compare to ours.”
Hm.
He nodded subtly.
Then, he turned to the other members of the Glory Orchestra, “No matter how strong or amazing the orchestra is on stage, we must not be intimidated,” he stated firmly. “We’ll still do our best, all right? That way, we wouldn’t have any regrets.”
Everyone nodded seriously.
Then, another orchestra stepped onto the stage.
The judges in the front row didn’t have any emotions on their faces. In fact, it was as if they weren’t even affected by the music at all.
Upon a closer look, he realized that he couldn’t recognize them.
In the previous rounds of the assessment, he always saw some familiar faces on the panel. It was how he knew—or at least, have an idea—as to their grading rubric.
But this time, he couldn’t recognize any of them.
Interesting.
Fang Hui, at first, didn’t think much of it. However, when he took another look, he saw that there were medals attached to each of their vests.
They all reflected their rankings within the Music Association.
When he saw their levels, Fang Hui couldn’t help but gasp.
Back then, the judges who appeared in the previous assessments were part of the lower rankings.
In fact, the most experienced judge they had, had only three stars.
Most of the judges who had appeared then only had two stars. While that was a feat in itself, they weren’t the best of their association.
However, now, he could see that almost all of them were four-star members. There were a couple of three-starred judges, but that was it!
How could this be?
It didn’t seem like a regular assessment at all, but rather an assessment to become a member of the Music Association!
Back then, he thought nothing would’ve changed.
But now, he could feel his sweat dripping down his cheeks.
He clenched his jaw.
Now, members from the other orchestras began noticing this as well.
“It can’t be! They’re all four-star judges?”
Fear coated their tones.
This was not the first time they had participated in an assessment.
But this assessment was the most terrifying of them all.
