Qin Man snorted. “Fine, I’ll inform your teacher of your decision.”
Hearing this, Yao Ran finally smiled.
Her mother would give her another chance!
Besides, who knew what would happen in the future? Yao Tang wouldn’t win every single time. And while she was out there being all lazy, she’d work even harder to trample that woman under her feet.
She’d make them all regret crossing her.

“Everyone, make sure to keep an eye out. There’s still a report of a group of smugglers entering the area, so we still have a lot of work to do.”
One of the men instructed on his radio. His sharp eyes were staring straight ahead.
The higher-ups had already informed them that morning that there would be a group of people entering the premises of Lingyun Peak. These intruders were all experts and may have many weapons in their hands. It was best to keep their guards up.
“Yes, Sir!”
A group of special forces soldiers were lying in the mountains, waiting to ambush these smugglers.
They all had the latest equipment in their hands, and their eyes were narrowed at the valleyways. All of them were incredibly focused.
Yet, despite the warning from the higher-ups, still saw no sight of these smugglers. It was already 10 AM.
Despite the early morning and long hours, the soldiers didn’t appear disappointed. Instead, they kept their spirits up as they paid attention to their surroundings.
Even then, the leader couldn’t help but be a little bit doubtful.
Could it be that these people weren’t coming?
They received the signal at 8 AM that same morning. That was why they had quickly surrounded the area, with some of their soldiers in the mountains, and the others in the forests.
They really wanted to capture these smugglers in one full sweep.
However, there was still no sign of them!
Could it be that the higher-ups have made a mistake? Could the smugglers have been warded off? After all, there had been an earthquake recently. Perhaps, they had simply decided not to go.
It was already half past ten, and there was still no sign of anyone coming.
Some of the soldiers couldn’t hold it in any longer. They were about to message their leader, but suddenly, their walkie-talkie began to pick up a signal.
“Sir, there are unknown people in the outer perimeter of the forest.”
A soldier tightened his grip on his walkie-talkie. “However, these people weren’t given a chance to enter the area.”
Everyone’s eyes light up.
So someone really had come.
The leader’s eyes lit up with a sudden realization as he gripped the hilt of his gun in his hand.
These people were really cunning. They had deliberately delayed the time to catch them all off guard. Luckily, they didn’t let their guard down. The corners of his lips inched up into a smile.
“Alright! Let’s take them down!”
The leader rubbed his palms together, and he could feel his heart pumping in his chest. Adrenaline raced through his system.
He made a gesture to the other soldiers behind him, and they immediately huddled together. The excitement was evident on their faces.
“When are we going to fuck up those bastards?”
The other man was beaming in excitement. “We haven’t gone on a mission in a long time. We must prove them our strength.”
“Oh, we’re going to have a good time today.”
Everyone was discussing animatedly, carrying their guns.
The squad leader shot them all a glare of disapproval. “The enemies are on the other side. Make sure to watch your movements,” he snapped. “It wouldn’t be good if those assholes escape. Now, everyone, listen to my orders and prepare to descend the mountains.”
“Yes, Sir!”
The team replied in unison.
However, it was at that moment that a familiar soldier hiked up the mountains. This was the same soldier who had informed them of the situation. “Sir,” he said firmly. “You don’t have to bring this many people.”
“Why?”
He furrowed his eyebrows. “We know that these people may not be as strong or as experienced as us, but one mustn’t let their guard down.”
Why did this soldier want to stop him?
Weren’t they here to provide support to the ground soldiers?
Moreover, what if the smugglers were really much stronger? How could the ground soldiers hold them back without some extra help?
