“Tangtang, I’m worried about you.”
Yao Yan felt hopeless. However, knowing that there was no way to force the truth out of her, he decided to take a sip from his tea. “Look, it doesn’t matter whether you tell me or not, but the mountain is a very dangerous place—especially after the earthquake. You have to be careful.”
“I know.” She nodded lightly.
Although he couldn’t get in touch with the girl who had gone on a killing spree in the forest, Yao Yan couldn’t help but be worried.
Maybe it really wasn’t her.

“Let them in.”
“That should be Elder Tan,” Yao Tang said indifferently.
Yao Yan waved her off.
He didn’t know how happy his sister was at that very moment.
As soon as they reached the living room, Yao Yan spotted a middle-aged man and a younger man lounging on the sofa. “President Tan, I’ve long heard about your reputation. It’s an honor to meet you today,” he greeted, extending out his hand. “Thank you for taking Tangtangunder your wing.”
President Tan laughed, shaking his hand. “She has truly made me proud. You’ve all raised a fine young lady.”
As soon as he spoke, he glanced over at the young woman. He sighed in relief when he saw that she was unscathed. “Now that Tangtang is fine, I can finally be at ease.”
His son, Tan Jian, resisted the urge to sigh.
Tan Jian had just arrived a few days ago. He hadn’t even rested as much when his father dragged him back to work.
President Tan had even traveled all the way to Lingyun Peak the other day. When Professor Wang handed his father to his care, he shot him a look and told him, “Good luck.” Back then, he failed to understand what he meant.

Maybe, he shouldn’t have come back at all.
His father had done nothing but order him around these days.
“Why don’t we go and see if Tangtang has returned and if she’s injured?”

The lady had just returned! She didn’t even have time to process what had happened. She must be spending her time with her family. Why did they have to step in?
“Dad, why don’t I go with you tomorrow? I’m sure your disciple needs to rest.”

“Fine, I’ll go outside their house to take a look. Maybe then, I’ll see her.”
Tan Jian coaked President Tan that night.

On that dark and windy night, Tan Jiang squatted near the Yao Family villa and waited for Yao Tangto appear.
The next day, Tan Jian came back with two dark circles around his eyes.
He entered the living room, only to be badgered by the Chairman.
“Well? Have you seen her? Is she alright?” he demanded.
“I didn’t see anyone that night.”
He said, feeling as if he was floating in a void.
What he didn’t expect was for President Tan not to back down. His frown became much more evidence as he snapped, “Useless! I shouldn’t have trusted you with this.”
“But—”
Before he could even think straight, he was already being dragged over by his father into the Yao Family home.
However, while his father was acting like a child, he couldn’t help but follow along.
After all, this was the first time his father had a disciple after twenty years. He naturally understood.
