Song Qiao told the driver to wait downstairs and didn’t ask the driver to accompany her.
She went straight to the elevator, pressed the call button, and seeing that the elevator was still on the 10th floor, she wasn’t in a hurry, still smiling as she teased, "If you came by taxi, aren’t you afraid of encountering a pervert? What if they find you pretty and decide to rob and assault you?"

Inside the CEO’s private elevator stood a very familiar, tall, and upstanding figure, his slender body turned slightly away from her. The man had one hand propped against the elevator wall, his other hand grasping the arm of a woman imprisoned between the elevator and his chest.
Though she could only see the woman’s profile, Song Qiao was certain that the woman was beautiful.
The two seemed to be talking about something, but the conversation wasn’t loud, and with the distance separating them, Song Qiao could only see a charming smile on the woman’s face, while Lu Jingchen’s handsome face was expressionless, even slightly angry. Whatever Lu Jingchen said, however, only made the woman’s smile even wider.
"Madam, you forgot to take the pastries you prepared!" At that moment, the voice of Uncle Chen, the driver, suddenly rang out in the empty parking lot. Lu Jingchen turned around swiftly upon hearing Uncle Chen’s voice and saw Song Qiao, who had just hastily averted her gaze. He appeared slightly taken aback, his face showing surprise, and even a touch of discomfiture and panic.
Uncle Chen, carrying an exquisite food box, came to Song Qiao’s side and now noticed Lu Jingchen and the woman from a distance. By then, Lu Jingchen had already let go of the woman and was striding toward Song Qiao.
Seeing Lu Jingchen, Uncle Chen promptly and respectfully spoke, "Sir, the Madam was just about to come up to find you!"
Song Qiao’s smile had long vanished, and she didn’t respond or explain in response to Uncle Chen’s words. As she was about to squat down to pick up her fallen phone, a larger hand beat her to it.
Lu Jingchen picked up Song Qiao’s phone but didn’t return it immediately. Instead, he casually grabbed her reaching hand and with a slight tug, pulled her into his embrace. He affectionately kissed her on the lips, his voice low, "I thought you weren’t planning to come over. Are you hungry? Shall we go pick up Ning Wan and then have dinner together?"
