The Bodyguard King’s CEO Wife Chapter 617

Chapter 617: Chapter 617: Ambush

“Yes, there’s no other way. Whether it’s individual soldier quality or teamwork proficiency, they are all better than us, so we can only give it our all.” Cheng Luoqi analyzed as he looked at the map.

“But right now they’re behind us, how are we going to get around them?” one squad leader said.

“The Dragon Teeth special forces are skilled in mountain tracking; simply hiding probably won’t work,” another member said.

“No choice then, we have to take the risk,” Cheng Luoqi said, eyeing the elevation contour lines on the map, a bold plan emerging in his mind.

“I have a plan, but I need your help,” Cheng Luoqi gathered everyone around the map and began discussing quietly.

Meanwhile, Ye Shikai was also looking at a map in the command center, focusing intently as if he too was a soldier about to go into battle, extremely earnest. These operational maps are typically topographical maps displaying contour lines, with each curve representing different elevations. An experienced scout can infer the entire battlefield’s geographical features from these lines.

“Wen Ya, get me a satellite image of the mountain behind us,” Ye Shikai urgently said at this moment.

“Sure, just a moment,” Wen Ya flipped out a map from the folder and handed it to Ye Shikai. The satellite image lacked contour lines and showed only features like forests, buildings, and lakes. Some abandoned factories on the mountain were used as one of the training exercise sites, but most of it was still green, naturally the forests.

“Ha ha, this Cheng Luoqi really is interesting,” Ye Shikai suddenly burst into laughter, startling everyone in the command center, who all turned to look at him.

“Wen Ya, what’s the weather like tomorrow, and what time does the sun rise?”

“A clear day, sunrise should be around 6:03 in the morning,” Wen Ya answered, looking at the data on the computer.

“Then I must know what Cheng Luoqi is thinking,” Ye Shikai put away both maps and said lightly.

“Really, Ye, do you know what Little Cheng is thinking?” Yan Kuan was also curious about what idea could make Ye Shikai so excited.

“I guess, but I can’t be one hundred percent sure. However, at the very least, the timing and geography are right, now it’s all about the human factor,” Ye Shikai teased, acting mysteriously.

“Captain, this is where we lost track of SAD,” the Dragon Teeth special forces were in hot pursuit, biting down hard but unfortunately a step behind, allowing SAD to escape—if not for that, this training combat exercise would have quickly come to an end.

“Cheng Luoqi really has some moves; no wonder he can be the general team leader,” Ouyang Feng said with his gun in hand.

“Captain, I heard they award medals in Hong Kong for completing major tasks. If we manage to completely encircle and annihilate Hong Kong’s precious SAD, do you think the higher-ups will also give us medals?” one team member joked.

“Stop daydreaming, it’s just an exercise, there are no medals for that. Besides, have you encircled and wiped them out?” Ouyang Feng said indifferently, “Let’s focus on completing the mission.”

“Captain, we’ve found footprints left by SAD up ahead, looks like about twenty people,” a scout ran up at this moment and reported to Ouyang Feng.

“They’re right ahead, chase them down.”

“Captain, this seems a bit eerie,” the special forces team arrived at a thicket of bushes; the area was filled with waist-high shrubbery and a few trees as cover, with a lake also nearby. Ouyang Feng found it strange—why had they chosen to head to such low ground if they were trying to escape? Were they not afraid of being encircled?

“Be cautious, they might be lying in ambush right here,” whispered Ouyang Feng. The only thing he found dangerous about this place was the shrubbery—it was not only dense but quite tall, and even wearing night vision goggles and taking a kneeling shot, he couldn’t see people.

“Spread out, set off a trailing light bullet,” half an hour later, Ouyang Feng could no longer wait and was caught in a very awkward position; he could even hear the enemy’s breathing but couldn’t see them due to the thick shrubbery and naturally didn’t dare to charge in recklessly.

The only solution was to move quickly and decisively.

“Yes, Captain,” a team member complied and took out a signal pistol, shooting a trailing light bullet into the sky.

“Whoosh…” The trailing light bullet made a long and piercing noise in the air…

“Fire.” When the light spread down, the two teams suddenly saw each other’s presence, with a mere distance of thirty to forty meters—it was practically a face-to-face encounter.

“Bang, bang, bang.” Gunfire erupted, and both sides immediately engaged in intense combat, with the flash from the gun muzzles acting as the best indicator. According to the rules of the exercise, only sniper rifles were allowed to be equipped with silencers; this was why the firefight was exceptionally fierce.

If you didn’t quickly take down the other side, you’d be taken down instead. With more members, the Dragon Teeth special forces gradually took down several SAD members, leaving only about a dozen.

“Retreat, retreat.” At this time, the SAD team members used the trees and bushes to cover each other with alternating fire as they retreated towards the abandoned factory behind them.

“Chase, don’t let them get away,” Ouyang Feng raised his gun, charging and shooting.

“Bang, bang, bang.” After a fierce battle, all remaining members of SAD retreated into the abandoned factory, while the Dragon Teeth special forces surrounded the entire facility.

“Captain, they’ve retreated inside,” a team member reported; this was an abandoned steel mill, and all the equipment inside had already been disassembled, leaving only an empty shell.

“If only we had a helicopter, a couple of missiles down and the command center would definitely declare them defeated,” a team member complained. The factory had only two large doors as exits and some high windows which couldn’t be reached from the outside, in other words, they still had to attack from the door entrance.

Of course, the opposition had the door entrance firmly targeted; anyone who entered would die—this was clear to everyone.

“What time is it now?” Ouyang Feng looked at the slightly brightening sky and asked lightly.

“Ten more minutes until six o’clock.”

“Good, then we’ll go in when it’s light,” Ouyang Feng nodded. The roof of the factory had been removed; once sunlight came in, those inside could be clearly seen. Even if there were many losses, they could still wipe out SAD.

“Wait, something’s not right,” Ouyang Feng suddenly gestured to stop and looked back at the thickets they had come from, replaying the earlier battle in his mind.

“It seems like a few of their people were missing.”
