Ye Shikai clenched his fists subtly; it seemed the Wang Family was determined to be at odds with him.
“Mr. Ye, sorry to have kept you waiting.” At this moment, Wang Qian walked out dressed in an OL (office lady) outfit. Ye Shikai stood up, and they briefly shook hands.
“Miss Wang, my apologies for the late visit.” Ye Shikai spoke indifferently.
“Mr. Ye, you’re too polite, please have a seat.” Wang Qian waved her hand, and a maid immediately served a cup of coffee.
“Mr. Ye, do you have any urgent matter?” Wang Qian asked lightly, her superficial smile never reaching her eyes, and though she seemed enthusiastic, her gaze never left Ye Shikai.
“There’s nothing urgent, merely some invitations. I was in a rush this morning and forgot to hand these to you. Please make sure your father, mother, and the senior executives of your company attend.” Ye Shikai pulled out a few red invitations from his bag and handed them over.
“I see, thank you for taking the trouble to deliver them in person.”
“Just to show the proper respect.” Ye Shikai smiled, then his expression subtly changed as he pulled out an additional invitation from his pocket. “This one’s for Mr. Wang. He and I have had some disputes before, and I hope we can bury the hatchet with a laugh at this event.”
Clearly, Ye Shikai noticed Wang Qian’s eyebrows arch slightly. What was this, a blatant provocation to Wang Hai, inviting a love rival to his own wedding? Wang Qian maintained her composure, but her brother Wang Hai did not have such ability.
What he needed to do now was to infuriate Wang Hai.
“Alright, then I’ll accept it on his behalf.” Wang Qian, indeed capable, managed to keep a straight face as she took the invitation.
“Miss Wang seems quite afraid of me,” Ye Shikai suddenly said with a smile.
“If you’re not afraid, why set up so many cultivators in ambush?” Ye Shikai suddenly said coldly. Wang Qian’s face twitched involuntary. Around the perimeter of the room, cultivators were positioned as bodyguards for the Wang Family to cover all bases. “Boss, how did it go on your end? Did Wang Qian give you any trouble?” On the road, Ye Shikai turned on his Bluetooth and talked to Ghost. A micro camera and a locator had been installed into the button of Ye Shikai’s clothing by Ghost. It was speculated that Wang Qian, afraid of exposure, might take action and that Ye Shikai going to the Single Blade Meeting could be dangerous. Thus, Mothman and the Netherworld Palace guards were positioned outside the Wang Family’s home. But in the end, nothing happened.
“No, she was very restrained,” Ye Shikai sighed and said lightly, “If it were that grandson Wang Hai, he would have probably taken action already.”
“So, Boss, how should we deal with the Wang Family from here on?”
“Pull everyone back, Wang Qian definitely won’t make any significant moves now,” Ye Shikai said indifferently.
“Speaking of which, Boss, are you really going to invite the Wang Family to the wedding?” At this moment, Ghost’s voice sounded again.

Ye Shikai swiftly turned around, only to be startled by the sight in front of him: black, elongated wings, an arrow-shaped head, a transparent shell on its chest, and furry hands with two sharp stingers extending forward; its round eyes were as big as copper bells, blood-red in color…
Why did it appear again? Ye Shikai was nearly traumatized by this creature.
“Darn it.” Just as Ye Shikai came to his senses, the Mothman charged at him. With its towering height, its arms seemed extremely long, the stingers jabbing fiercely towards Ye Shikai’s stomach. Instinctively, Ye Shikai punched to block; darn, if he got stabbed, it would surely disembowel him. Ye Shikai quickly backpedaled, dodging the Mothman’s attacks.
“Damn it, where did this thing come from?” Ye Shikai cursed inwardly. At this moment, Ghost’s voice suddenly came through the Bluetooth, “Boss, what is that monster?”
“Nonsense, I’d like to know that too,” Ye Shikai shouted back. It seemed he had to use his real skills now. Luckily, he had some experience dealing with Mothmen before. By exploiting the moth’s natural phototaxis, he could target it for an attack.
Ye Shikai immediately dashed to the side, flung the car door open swiftly, turned on the high beams, and then quickly got out of the way. Just as his body moved, a claw stabbed forward, piercing through the car door.
“That should do it,” Ye Shikai stood in the distance. If nothing went wrong, that silly Mothman giant should be “unable to extricate itself” on top of the car light.
“What?” But the scene in front of him seemed a bit different from what he expected. The Mothman completely ignored the car light and once again lunged fiercely at Ye Shikai.
“Darn it.” Ye Shikai leapt up sharply, taking the opportunity to move behind the Mothman and smashed a fierce punch onto its head.
“Bang.” The Mothman staggered slightly after the heavy blow, and Ye Shikai felt a surge of elation inside; the attack seemed effective.
“Boss, how are you doing now?”
“I’m fine; this guy is much stronger than before.”
“Hold on, Boss, our people will be there soon,” Ghost said anxiously. Ye Shikai knew that even if the Netherworld Palace’s reinforcements were quick, it would still take at least ten minutes. After all, this was a freeway, and there was only one path available.
