“It’s really interesting. I want to hear how you’re going to persuade me.” The woman in black took two wine glasses from the cupboard, leisurely filled them, and pushed one of the glasses towards Tang Yun. She seemed quite curious about this new mission.
“The task from the master is simple, and that is to kill Ye Shikai.” Tang Yun’s words had just landed when the woman’s pretty face under the black veil slightly changed. Tang Yun couldn’t see the expression beneath the veil, but she caught the slight tremble of the hand holding the wine glass; an involuntary reaction of shock, which meant the woman in black was surprised by the mission.
“Are you sure.” It was a long while before the woman in black spoke indifferently, verifying the content of the mission for the first time.
“This is the mission decreed by the master. I’m just the messenger.” Tang Yun said lightly, draining the wine glass in one gulp. Killing Ye Shikai, that was something that everyone in the international underworld had tried to do at some point. Zeus desperately wanted to kill Ye Shikai, racked his brain day and night, yet, no one had ever succeeded.
“I’ll need an additional thirty million US dollars.” The woman in black blurted out.
“I can convey that to the master for you.” Tang Yun spoke, “Since that’s the case, I’ll take it as you’ve agreed.”
“It seems your master is determined to take his life.”
“I’m not the master, nor do I understand the master’s thoughts.” Tang Yun shook her head and slowly stood up. “You have one week.”
“Qingyu, you should rest a bit.” Ye Shikai gently supported Su Qingyu. After being comatose for over ten days and having just recently awoken, her bodily functions needed time to recover. For some reason, Su Qingyu, leaning on a crutch to regain her strength, walked for two hours on end without rest.
“I’m not tired; I can practice a little more.” Although Su Qingyu was stubborn, with Ye Shikai’s persuasion, she finally lied down on the bed for a while. Ye Shikai had examined Su Qingyu’s body, which was now like that of a young girl.
“You really are a workaholic.” Ye Shikai couldn’t help sighing while watching Su Qingyu working on documents in bed. It seemed Su Qingyu had become inseparably attached to her work. Even after a severe injury, her habits hadn’t changed at all.

“Since marrying you, I’ve been prepared. You are not an ordinary man, so how could life be mundane?”
Su Qingyu’s words were meant as comfort, but to Ye Shikai’s ears, they stung like needles, unraveling the confusion in his heart. From the beginning, he had fantasized about returning to Huaxia, to start living a normal life. But this thought was merely an “ideal”. Ideals are beautiful, but reality is harsh. Not to mention others, would Zeus let him go, would his enemies? None of them would.
Unless he became so powerful that no one would dare seek revenge, this was the life he would always lead.
“Qingyu, do you really want to live ? If you don’t…”
“Don’t talk.” Before Ye Shikai could finish, Su Qingyu’s delicate finger was already pressing against his lips.

“Boss, it’s me.” A voice came from outside; it was Soul Destroyer.
“Come in.” Ye Shikai curiously asked, “What’s the matter?”
“Boss, there’s an urgent issue that requires your attention,” Soul Destroyer said gravely, indicating there seemed to be a serious issue. Su Qingyu immediately understood and encouraged Ye Shikai to go and deal with it.
“Alright, I’ll have Demoness come over to look after you, Qingyu. I need to take care of this first.” Ye Shikai adjusted Su Qingyu’s blanket and gave her a small smile.
“When did this happen?” Ye Shikai looked at Short-nosed Crocodile lying on the hospital bed, two stab wounds in the abdomen and one in the chest, all penetrating injuries. As a professional, he immediately saw that these injuries were sustained while blocking attacks, meaning the assailant aimed to kill and had Short-nosed Crocodile not blocked, he would not have been merely injured now.
“Twenty minutes ago, Short-nosed Crocodile took some people out to investigate,” Ghost paused, surveying those around him, “and they were attacked by unidentified assailants.”
“Unidentified assailants,” Ye Shikai murmured, a surge of anger rising in his heart. It hadn’t been long since the incident with Su Qingyu, and now someone from Netherworld Palace had been assassinated.
“All five Hidden Guards that were present were assassinated. By the time our people discovered them, only Short-nosed Crocodile was still alive but seriously wounded.”
“Within two hours, I want to know who it was.” Murderous intent flooded Ye Shikai’s eyes. His loved ones, brothers, friends, one by one being killed or injured, filled him with seething hatred.
“Yes, Boss.” Ghost nodded and turned to leave.
“Wait.” Suddenly, Ye Shikai stopped Ghost.
“Boss, is there something else?”
“Have the Hidden Guards assemble. We have an operation tonight.” Ye Shikai spoke calmly, but everyone around couldn’t help but shudder. Ye Shikai’s current expression and behavior indicated he had genuinely been provoked.
“What, you’re going out for revenge?” When Ye Shikai finished sharing his plan, Ji Qian did not express approval but rather showed a look of astonishment.
“What, do you object?”
“It looks like you really are angry.” Ji Qian suddenly chuckled twice, pouring a glass of ice water for Ye Shikai.
“You’re right, I am angry. I am furious.”
“Although Short-nosed Crocodile was attacked while investigating, in the end, he’s just a leader of Netherworld Palace. Why would someone want to harm him so badly?”
