“Solving the case is one thing, but why did you spend so much money?” After leaving the timber market, Zhang Ting complained to Ye Shikai. Seven million was no small amount, but Ye Shikai seemed indifferent, as if he had only spent seventy.
“Anything that can be bought with money is not good.” Ye Shikai smiled lightly. “If spending seven million can help catch the demon exorcist and save a few lives, do you think it’s worth it?”

“Has your injury improved?” Ye Shikai placed the fruit basket he bought on the bedside table, speaking to the stunning woman on the bed: Zhao Yanran. Last time, she was chased by a group of men in black, and if not for Ye Shikai’s intervention, she wouldn’t have a chance to be lying here.

“Don’t act so familiar.” Ye Shikai’s gaze suddenly turned cold. “Speaking of the wedding banquet, don’t forget my wife was shot there; I’ve never let that go.” Ye Shikai seemed ready to explode, releasing an unnatural chill. Zhao Yanran backed away, showing a frightened expression.
“Why are you so fierce? It wasn’t me who did it.” Zhao Yanran said weakly.
“How are you going to account for my wife’s injury?” Ye Shikai shouted softly. This thoroughly frightened Zhao Yanran; being a weak woman, if Ye Shikai acted then, she’d end up in the ICU.
“I don’t know, I’m sorry.” Zhao Yanran was so scared she almost cried. Seeing this, Ye Shikai didn’t pursue the matter further, snorting coldly, he sat beside her watching TV. After the scare, Zhao Yanran was clearly much more docile.
“Ms. Zhao, it’s time for your injection.” An masked nurse appeared at the door at this moment.
“Oh, okay.” Zhao Yanran put down the apple lazily.

Ye Shikai stepped out and found two more nurses outside with a small trolley, seemingly waiting for their colleague inside.
“Does this hospital have so many nurses?” Ye Shikai couldn’t help but remark, as he’d never seen three nurses giving an injection to the same patient.
“Ladies, how is the patient’s condition inside?” Perhaps feeling bored, Ye Shikai slightly ‘chatted’ with them.
“Why bother, move aside.” Trying to chat a bit, he unexpectedly got cussed out by one nurse, leaving Ye Shikai stunned and immediately irritated. He’s no pushover, not even to service staff with that attitude.
Ye Shikai’s hand accidentally hit the small trolley, and when his palm fell on the white cloth above, it was like touching something electrifying, pulling his hand back. Hidden by the cloth, he couldn’t see underneath but years of experience with firearms told him there was undoubtedly a gun there.
“Sir, she just encountered something unpleasant and is in a bad mood. I apologize on her behalf.” Another nurse stepped forward, bowing to Ye Shikai.
“Uh…” Ye Shikai was startled, his eyes shifted quickly, calming his expression. “Alright, just pay attention next time.” He waved his hand, walking past them.
The moment all three were parallel, Ye Shikai’s eyes suddenly shifted, crashing boldly towards the trolley.

Two black handguns rolled out from the trolley; indeed, the three of them were shocked.
“Take action.” One nurse coldly commanded, pulling out a dagger from her clothes, charging forward aggressively. The other nurse, regaining her senses, also took out two sharp blades and rushed ahead.
“Petty tricks.” Ye Shikai was prepared, quickly retrieving a metal sword from the Storage Ring and waved it.
