Chapter 29: Baobao Had a Fever

After Chu Yichen finished his meal, Li An’an washed the dishes in the kitchen. She liked cleaning the kitchen very much. This was a habit she developed under the Li family’s oppression after they adopted her from the orphanage.

At the Hospital
The doctor took Li Baobao’s temperature, prescribed her medicine, and gave her a fever-reducing patch. He then asked Li An’an to take the child back home to rest.
Li An’an rushed back and made her daughter drink more water.
It took more than an hour for the child’s fever to subside. Her anxious heart also relaxed. Ever since they were young, her children had come down with fevers many times. She was still flustered, but seeing that Baobao was fine, she felt that no matter how tired she was, it was worth it.
At the Villa
Chu Yichen sat in the study and looked at the clock for the umpteenth time.
Butler Chu started to make phone calls. Li An’an had left her post without permission.
If she didn’t return, he would go and nab her. One couldn’t simply ignore the rules when working for the Chu family.
“Li An’an, I’ll give you 20 minutes. Come back right away.”
The butler’s voice was cold and hard. He had already told the bodyguards to get ready. If she didn’t come, he would go and detain her.
