October looked at Lexus through the dim light. His contours were outlined by the bluish light from the moon coming through the window. Even though the lighting was poor, Lexus’ handsome was still not covered by the darkness. In fact, it only made him look more devilishly good looking to the point making her stare at him looking so infatuated.
"You should try to blink your eyes, wifey. Don’t worry, I will stay with you forever in order for you to look at me as much as you want. Also, I won’t let you avert your eyes from me to look at other men...or women." Lexus’ eyes squinted dangerously as he thought of that possibility.The muscles on his arms tensed and his hold of October tightened.
"You really do speak a lot of embarrassing things without batting an eye. I really have to say that I’m falbbergasted about it." October said with a suspicious look on her face. However, her face was red. Good thing that it was dark which enabled her to cover her face with darkness.
Lexus chuckled as he pushed October’s head close to his chest. "I’m just speaking my mind out."
"Anything unusual happened when you were out with mother today?"
"No." October shook her head but then remembered about something. Reluctant, she still decided to tell Lexus about it. "On second thought, I met with Fu Yung."
Lexus had on a blank face as his mind tried to put a face into this name yet no one registered. He looked down to stare at October and asked, "Who’s that? An acquiantance?"
"...You could say that." October smiled bitterly as she closed her eyes and burried her face in Lexus’ hard chest.
Lexus had his mouth sealed tightly as he let October continue what she was saying. However, the light in his eyes remained gentle and doting while gazing at her. He wanted to continue to keep her close to him and protect her with all his got. Just that the woman he was in love with was someone with a very strong woman and quite independent too.
"She used to be my best friend, together with Ma Rong, during my college years. Things happened that had gotten out of my control and out friendship crumbled to dust." She calmly said as if the one she was talking about does not concern her. Well, maybe she does not but no one could really fault her for this.
"Oh." He said as his eyes glowed a dangerous light. His heart ached for his wife as soon as he remembered the grievances she had experienced and endured all by herself. He was not there for her before so now that she was with him now, he would never let her be hurt ever again.
Now that he had heard who this Fu Yung was, he instantly took note of this and locked his target on that woman’s head.
"Why is your face looking so twisted like that?" October raised her elegant brow. Even though she had asked this, she already had an inkling of what Lexus was thinking.
"Nothing. Anyway, don’t associate with those people again. They’ll only tain your eyes."
"Speaking about "those people" you are saying, I am planning to invite them in our wedding." October said nonchalantly.
Lexus’ brows instantly furrowed tightly. Clearly, he was terribly unhappy hearing this. Unwillingness was etched plainly on his well-molded face.
"Why?"
"I just wanted to fulfill my last role as his daughter, the daughter of the Park family." October paused as a gentle and sweet smile slowly made its way in her cherry lips. "After that, I will already be part of the Song family...right? Thinking about being a family with you makes me really happy."
Lexus’ heart tugged at her sweet words. Ahh~! He’s totally defeated by his wife. His wife really was the sweetest and most charming woman he had laid his eyes on. Just her being by his side was enough to make his life go round.
"I’m more than happy knowing that you’re my wife. I’ll never let you go."
October giggled and it was like bells ringing a sweet tune in Lexus’ ears.
"After that, I would completely cut my ties with them. I’ve never really meddled with those people and yet they keep on pestering me. I’ve kept quiet and distanced myself from them; however, they still kept on reaching their claws at me. It’s funny, really. They feel so threatened with my existence. I really don’t understand."
Lexus massaged October’s forehead tenderly. "Whatever you do and whatever decisions you’ll make, I’ll support you. I’m your husband."
"So is it okay to say that after our wedding and that you had already cut ties with that family, can I destroy them?" Lexus’ eyes brightened in excitement. She will cut ties with the Park family so it’s not a problem to ruin them, right? Just thinking about it was making him really excited.
October slapped his chest slowly as she admonished him, "Don’t do anything to them. I’ll let them be. Moreover, I still had a young younger brother that still needs the love and care of his parents."
Lexus fell silent. He then nodded his head in agreement. He was again reminded that despite his wife’s indifference and coldness, almost seemed like apathetic, was in truth the most kind person he knew.
"Okay. I’ll do what you said."
Soon, silent and steady breathing was heard in the room. October had unknowingly fallen asleep in Lexus’ arms. Noticing this, he closed his eyes and there was a contented smile on his face. He felt at peace and relaxed.
With his beloved in his arms, Lexus had also fallen asleep.
The next morning, October woke up with no Lexus next to her. She slowly sat up from the bed and she could hear the shower running in the bathroom.
’Must be him.’ She thought and stiffled a yawn. After stretching her arms and legs a bit, she fixed her bed hair and stood up.
With eyes still half-closed, she fixed their bed and went to open the window. Instantly, the cold fresh air from outside caressed her skin.
As her eyes adjusted to the light, she then remembered about last night.
Not later when Lexus had fallen asleep, she woke up hungry. She does not know why but she had suddenly thought of wanting to eat apples. Was this one of her cravings? Also, do they have apples in the kitchen? She really does not know and she was too tired to get up and go to the kitchen.
Thinking this, she looked at the sleeping figure next to her. She was still wrapped securely in his arms and a smile was on her lips. She was hesitant but she was really hungry and wanted to eat apples right now.
After mulling over this for a good few minutes, she finally decided to try and wake Lexus up. Fortunately, it did not take long before he woke up.
Lexus slowly woke up and looked at October with a confused look. "Wifey, don’t be naughty and let’s go back to sleep."
He tried to close his eyes again to sleep but he was again shook awake. He opened his eyes as drowsiness slowly faded. He turned his gaze down to October’s face only to make out from the poor lighting in the room that she had on a complicated look on her pretty face.
"I’m hungry. I want to eat apples." October said shyly.
October slapped her face awake and her eyes snapped open with alertness. She had remembered clearly how baffled Lexus was at what she said. Then, a burst of laughter echoed in the dark room.
Sighing in embarrassment, she was really embarrassed to wake Lexus up only to get her some appples from the kitchen. What’s more was that she wanted it peeled. Talk about demanding.
"Why are you sighing early in the morning?" A deep and gruff voice was then heard just beside her ear completely startling October. After that, she was immediately wrapped with a strong arms and a minty pine scent wafted in the air and filling her nose.
