October was silent and took a quick glance at Lexus who was looking at her with a complicated look in his eyes. She was at a loss for words.
This man before her was supposed to be a ruthless, evil, and cunning man. That was what the rumors said. But how was it that all of those things seems like an added charm to this person? His words are sharp but it doesn’t seem so harsh when she heard it herself? Why was this man getting more and more dazzling in front of her? Why was his eyes looking at her like that? Why was her heart beating so fast right now?
"Tell me, do you have someone else in your heart?" Lexus asked as he reached out his hand to caress her soft cheek. He wanted to know but he was also scared to hear her reply. He gritted his teeth as he waited agonizingly for her to open her red lips.
’Ah. I really must be crazy.’ October and Lexus thought. They were on a deadlock as they continued to stare at each other’s eyes.
The atmosphere around them felt melancholic. Although the people around them didn’t hear their exchange, it was enough for them to know just from the atmosphere they have. All they know was that there was like a stab at their hearts.
October looked away. She wanted to know what he was thinking. She wanted to know what those gazes he looked at her with mean. There were a lot of questions running through her mind and she doesn’t know how to ask and where to start. She felt like she doesn’t deserve to be near this man and realizing this made her chest winced in pain.
Lexus saw her looking away with a frown on her face. So she really has someone else in her heart. He dropped his hand down to the side. He felt like his heart was squeezed so tightly making him want to scream in pain.
They met just twice today. They can be barely called acquaintances. But it wasn’t like that at all. He knew that she was more than that to him. He wanted more of her. He wanted her by his side. He wanted her all for himself, and him to her.
Lexus knew that forcing her will be bad. It may have a negative response. But what can he do? He was going crazy just thinking of another man touching her. No! He can’t let that happen.
Lexus have to harden himself as he decided what to do. He grabbed her shoulders and forcefully turn her to him and resolutely said to her with great determination, "You can’t love someone else! You can only have me. You can only look at me. You only need me in your life. I will never let other men touch my woman. You can only...love me."
October heard his declaration as her heart leapt. She was surprised as to what she was hearing. She was wondering what he meant. But the more she listened, the more she felt like she was just hearing things.
October felt so happy but she was also scared. This was happening so fast. Was this her dream? Was she thinking of him like this? She doesn’t know. She doesn’t have any clue about how to handle this kind of situation.
Without waiting anymore, October abruptly stood up from Lexus’ lap and said, "I’m sorry." After that, she run away from him. She was desperate to leave. She was so confused about this situation. She doesn’t know how to handle this. She doesn’t know what to say to him and what face to use. She can’t look at his ocean eyes for she knew she’ll drown in them.
October walked out of the room as she wanted to quickly get out of the restaurant. Ah. She forgot the flowers. But it was best for her not to bring those for she will be reminded more of him.
As she got out of the restaurant, she immediately hailed a taxi and got on it to get home. She felt tired. She looked at the restaurant through her window but saw not even a glimpse of his shadow. He didn’t follow her.
October felt complicated. She wanted for him to follow her but at the same time, she doesn’t want to. She turned back around and closed her eyes. It just happened so fast that she was caught unprepared. She really doesn’t know what she’s feeling right now.
While mulling over it, she heard her phone ring. She immediately searched for it in her bag and grabbed it to answer the call.
"Grandpa." October said with her tired voice.
"You brat! Where did you run off to? I prepared a car to pick you up but you were already not there in your office. They say that you already left." Grandpa He was fuming in anger and annoyance as he slammed his hand on his table.
"Ahh." October snapped her eyes open as her tiredness vanished. She totally forgot. But she thought it was her grandpa’s car that picked her up that time. Was that why she didn’t recognize the car?
"Don’t ’Ahh’ me! Now I have to explain to my pal why his grandson got stood up by you!" Grandpa He grumbled. He really needed to explain this to that old man. He felt his head aching.
"What did you say grandpa?" October’s eyes turned sharp. "You planned on setting me up on a date?"
Grandpa He almost bit his tongue as he saw his assistant shaking his head. He grabbed a pen from his table and threw it at his assistant who managed to dodge it making his lip twitch in annoyance.
"Grandpa!" October coldly called as her head started to ache.
"Hmph! So what? You’re already 26 yet you’re not married or given me my great grandchildren." Grandpa He shamelessly said. "I was just worried about your future."
"Grandpa, you don’t need to mind that now. I’m contented as it was right now." October said as her voice almost choked at her last sentence. Was she really contented?
"What if you’ll forget the time and you won’t get to marry someone till you’re old? I still want to hold my great grandchild! My great grandchild!" He said as he sounded so desperate. He wanted to have one! "I’m already old now so find someone you like, okay? Do it for me."
"Grandpa, you know that’s something I cannot do now. It is not that easy." October sighed as she massaged her head.
"If you won’t, I’ll find someone for you." Grandpa He declared and ended the call.
October sighed defeatedly. Her grandpa really was unreasonable. She knew that he was old, but if he wanted to have a great grandchild, he has a lot of grandchildren aside from her to give him one. So why her?
October shook her head as she decided to stop thinking about it. What she needed to do now was how to handle things with Lexus. She really doesn’t know what to do anymore.
