October coldly looked at the lady behind the reception table who the bodyguard called as Lanlan. She raised her brow. Seeing how Lanlan looked at her nervously and how the color in her face changed to white before her very eyes was amusing. She could look at it over and over if she could.
"Young madam, please let us hurry." Assistant Yu immediately said as soon as he stood before October with his hands gestering for her to talk toward the elevator.
"A-assistant Yu, this woman jus--" Lanlan started but was comppletely ignored by him instead. He did not even spare her a single glance. She felt the ominous feeling crouching behind her and that darkness was slowly swallowing her whole starting from her shaking knees.
"Yes, let’s." October said with a calm voice and straightened her back full of confidence. However, before she started to walk, she looked at Lanlan looking at her as if she had been wronged. Her heart chilled and inwardly sneered.
"As I’ve said, don’t just blindly provoke someone you should never provoke." After saying her piece, she walked toward the elevator with Assistant Yu following close to her in a very docile manner.
But just before Lanlan could even let October’s words sink into her, she saw the glare full of sharp daggers directed at her from Assistant Yu. This time, she finally collapsed to her seat with a heart full of dread.
’Who was that woman exactly?! How could she get that kind of reception from the CEO’s assistant?’ No matter how she wracked her brains, Lanlan would always arrive in the answer she does not want to acknowledge and that is being that woman relating to the CEO himself.
Then she suddenly remembered the words that October had said to her. It kept repeating in her ears almost deafening her. It was like a curse wrapping around her.
While Lanlan was getting swallowed in despair of probably no return, the bodyguard Gen stood frozen in place as he stared blankly in a the elevator where October had took.
October, on the other hand, did not care about what the people in the lobby were thinking and had immediately tossed that unimportant person at the very back of her mind. Right now, her focus was with on Lexus who, according to Assistant Yu, was acting very "creepy."
"That’s right. You said about him smiling to himself but never say anything. Do you mind expounding that, Assistant Yu." October raised an eyebrow at the man beside him who was sweeting profusely since the time she saw him running toward her.
"Ah yes." He said and quickly grabbed a handkerchief from his back pocket before wiping his face. "He suddenly called me to gather all of the directors of every department for an emergency meeting. He did not say about what the emergency meeting will be about. However, as soon as the they gathered, he was just sitting on his chair with a grin on his face. No matter how you look at it, his smile, young madam, was just too unusual and creepy in fact. I’m sorry about that description but there was really no other way to describe him right now due to the trauma he had instilled with us that his smile was a sign of great calamity. What calamity it is, we still did not know."
"Then, he would sometimes look at his phone which was very out of his character. It had already been like that for three hours already. The directors are starting so suffocate from the silence in the room." He added.
October sighed in her heart. The more she listened with Assistant Yu, the more bizarre it got. Well, she also does not know what was wrong with Lexus because she did not notice anything out of the ordinary early in the morning.
*ding*
The elevator door finally opened for October and Assistant Yu to alight.
"Let me see him first." If she could meet him and see for herself what Lexus was doing, then maybe she would have an idea of what it was that had caused him to act like so.
Soon, they arrived at a slightly opened door where October and Assistant Yu had heard voices inside. This voice was deep and gruff but sounded lazy and exuding overbearing sexiness that made her insides tingle.
Paused just outside the door and tried to listen in on the conversation inside. But as soon as she heard what he was saying, she was completely dumbfounded.
"Yes. Don’t you think that she is very pretty? She’s very little. She really cute right?" Lexus said in a very domineering manner that made his directors swallow a lump in their throats.
The directors looked at the picture on their hands that was given to them by their boss himself and then to the dark smile on his face then back on the picture.
’What the hell are we going to say from this?!’ The directors looked at the picture on their hand so hard as if bruning a hole throught it. They were completely taken aback from this...this absurdity.
"She’s cute...right?" The smile on Lexus’ face was wide but his eyes were threatening as if he was saying ’If you don’t agree that she’s cute then die.’
’Ahh~! I want to escape from this hell hole! Just where is Assistant Yu when we needed him most! Did that lad just escaped on his own?!’ The directors were screaming in terror in the presence of this great demon who will swallow them whole if he did not like what he was hearing.
"Y-yes, master. She’s really cute." Director Lin said energetically with a forced smile on his sweaty face. ’Please stop torturing us already, master! Let go of us.’
Director Lin looked at the picture on his hand again and almost went mad at this own master’s madness!
’Isn’t this still a fetus? We did heard about the pregnancy check-up with his wife but isn’t this too small? It’s still in the early stages, at the first trimester, right? It’s still so small and yet he was claiming that the fetus was a "she." Well how can their boss even say that confidently when the head of the baby is not even yet well-developed. Wait, is there already a head forming?’ Director Lin squinted his eyes and draw the picture closer to his face, ’Is the head already there?’
"Y-yes, boss. She looks just like you ah. Hahaha-ha...heeeh!" Director Hong seconded desperately only to squeal like a pig when he noticed the threatening dark look on Lexux’ face. He immediately covered his mouth and did not dare to utter any more word in case he would made another blunder of himself.
The rest of the directors trembled in fear and turned to Director Hong with angry eyes.
"What are you saying, Director Hong? S-She’s definitely a beauty like her mother. Just look at the face ah!" One director butted in. He had on a smile on his face but his mind was crying, ’I don’t care anymore! Just let me go home with my family!’
