"But if something happened to you, I..." Shen Yi paused, unable to continue.
When he learned how Ye Wanwan’s documents were lost, his anger was real. He had been well-educated from a young age and never thought highly of himself or behaved presumptuously because of his family.
But in that moment, he truly thought if anything happened to Ye Wanwan, he would stop at nothing!
Shen Yi took a deep breath and told Ye Wanwan with great care, "Wanwan, you need to understand that you are the most important thing to me."

It was obvious that the person had targeted the document she had brought; if not for that document, she might not have been injured at all.
Ye Wanwan was originally feeling guilty and couldn’t help her eyes from reddening. Now, hearing Shen Yi’s words, tears slipped from her eyes.

"Let’s go home first," Shen Yi said as he took a tissue to wipe away Ye Wanwan’s tears, then led her out of the office.

The few people who had been speaking turned to look at the woman who had made the remark.
The woman snorted coldly, "Didn’t you see Assistant Chen go down just now? I heard that our beautiful Mrs. Shen lost Manager Shen’s document!"
In the office, several faces looked at each other; eventually, everyone went back to their tasks, deciding it was best to finish quickly and go home.
By the time they got home, it was after seven, and dinner was already prepared.
But Ye Wanwan had no appetite, eating only a little before putting down her chopsticks.
Shen Yi knew she must be tired and didn’t urge her to eat more. After he finished eating, they both returned to the bedroom.
"Rest early if you’re tired," Shen Yi said.
Ye Wanwan nodded. She really wasn’t up for doing anything else today and went to bed early after getting ready.
Perhaps she was genuinely tired, for she fell asleep not long after.
Once Shen Yi was sure Ye Wanwan was asleep, he carefully moved his hand away, got out of bed, tucked her in properly, and then tiptoed out of the bedroom to the study next door.
As soon as he entered the study, Shen Yi’s aura shifted slightly; the anger he had been suppressing was slowly reviving.
Shen Yi didn’t sit down at the desk but stood by the window instead.
The window was open, and Shen Yi stood there in just his thin pajamas, the chill wind blowing fiercely, chill waves assailing him, but he seemed oblivious to the cold.
