Everyone on the filming set was busy, so Ye Wanwan and Yu Qiqi found a corner to stand in as it wasn’t appropriate for them to be in the middle.
About ten minutes later, there was some noise at the door, and when Ye Wanwan looked up, she saw Wang Xuemin striding in with an air of arrogance.
An assistant followed by Wang Xuemin’s side, holding a bunch of stuff that clearly belonged to her.
The assistant director, upon seeing Wang Xuemin come in, hurried over. Although he had just been furiously scolding an assistant and telling them to contact Wang Xuemin right away, he now smiled obsequiously and bowed as he said, "Miss Wang has arrived."
Wang Xuemin, with her head slightly raised, glanced at the assistant director and said indifferently, "Hmm, I’m late. There was some traffic on the road; sorry about that."
"No problem, no problem. Traffic is inevitable," the assistant director agreed.
Wang Xuemin didn’t say anything more and went off to find a makeup artist to do her makeup.
But this wait turned out to be another hour, and the shoot still hadn’t started.
Ye Wanwan glanced at her watch and slightly frowned, "It’s almost three o’clock, and we haven’t started yet. Can we finish shooting before we knock off?"
Yu Qiqi looked around the set, saw Wang Xuemin still getting her makeup done, and couldn’t help but click her tongue, "Why is she still doing makeup? Is she trying to look more beautiful than a fairy?"
"But with her looks, she probably needs a new face," Yu Qiqi muttered to herself.
Half an hour later, the shooting finally began.
During the shoot, Wang Xuemin was quite serious, probably aware that if she didn’t perform well now, the feedback would be poor, and she could be replaced next time.
However, halfway through the shoot, more people arrived at the studio.
Yu Qiqi nudged Ye Wanwan with her elbow and whispered, "It’s President Zhang from Galaxy Entertainment, and also Wang Xuemin’s financial backer."
Ye Wanwan looked over and saw the middle-aged man who had been with Wang Xuemin in the elevator last time.
Ye Wanwan didn’t want to say anything, but Wang Xuemin, who had been posing seriously, seemed to forget she was in the middle of a shoot and ran straight over to President Zhang.
Once she reached President Zhang’s side, Wang Xuemin took his arm and snuggled up to him like a little bird, "What brings you here?"
President Zhang smiled, "I just finished with work and remembered you were nearby, so I came to see you."
"How’s the shooting going? Everything smooth?" President Zhang asked with concern.
Wang Xuemin nodded, "Yes, it’s going very well."
"Alright, I’ll wait here for you, and we can go out to eat after you’re finished," President Zhang added.
"Sure," Wang Xuemin immediately agreed, her eyes and brows curved with genuine delight.
President Zhang sat down to the side, Wang Xuemin returned to the shoot, and everything carried on.
Before long, however, Ye Wanwan noticed a gaze fixed on her. When she turned her head, she saw that same President Zhang watching her.
Ye Wanwan couldn’t help frowning; she disliked such attention.
When President Zhang realized that Ye Wanwan had caught his gaze, he even smiled at her.
This made Ye Wanwan even more uncomfortable.
Yu Qiqi asked, "What’s wrong?"
Ye Wanwan replied with some irritation, "President Zhang has been staring at me over there."
Yu Qiqi looked over and indeed saw President Zhang looking their way, and couldn’t help cursing, "Dirty old man!"
As she spoke, Yu Qiqi pulled Ye Wanwan to switch places with her.
