"Okay, we’ll wait for you to have lunch together," Ye Wanwan said.
"Hmm," Shen Yi replied.
After hanging up the phone, Ye Wanwan’s face was still brimming with smiles, looking like a joyous fool. Then she ran to the kitchen and told the servants to prepare several more dishes.
Obviously, those dishes were Shen Yi’s favorites.
Su Xiangyi smiled helplessly, indeed, a grown daughter couldn’t be kept at home.
An hour later, the sound of a vehicle entering the villa area could be heard, and Ye Wanwan couldn’t help but run out of the house to see.
Although she still had a smile on her face when she saw that the visitors were Shen Yi’s father and mother, anyone with discerning eyes could tell that there was a touch of disappointment in her expression.
"Dad, Mom, you’re here," Ye Wanwan greeted them sweetly and cleverly.
Lin Xu couldn’t resist teasing her, "Disappointed that it’s not that stinky boy?"
"Not at all," Ye Wanwan said, her cheeks blushing slightly as she quietly retorted.
"Not yet, knowing Shen Yi is coming back, you were so excited you didn’t know which way was up," Su Xiangyi came over from behind, mercilessly exposing Ye Wanwan.
For a moment, Ye Wanwan didn’t know what to say, standing there with her face flushed.
Su Xiangyi and Lin Xu both laughed, and then, arm in arm, they chatted as they walked towards the villa.
The family sat in the living room chatting. Ye Zhenhua and Shen Yun’an were quietly discussing work matters, and Ye Wanwan couldn’t get a word in.
On the other hand, Su Xiangyi and Lin Xu were chatting about Ye Wanwan and Shen Yi. Listening to them, Ye Wanwan truly wanted to hide away, let alone join the conversation.
After another half an hour or so, there was another sound of a vehicle outside the villa. Ye Wanwan wanted to get up and go out, but seeing that both mothers were watching her, she had to feign calmness and stay seated.
Su Xiangyi knew her daughter all too well. Seeing that pretentious expression on her face, she couldn’t help wanting to laugh.
Finally, Su Xiangyi relented and said, "Go on then, don’t just sit here."
Ye Wanwan flashed a sweet smile at Su Xiangyi, "Then I’m going out."
Having said that, Ye Wanwan stood up and quickly walked out of the villa. Had she not been restraining herself to avoid being laughed at by the two mothers, she probably would have run.
Watching Ye Wanwan’s retreating figure, Su Xiangyi felt both relief and amusement, "Seeing how good they are together, I am reassured."
Lin Xu laughed too, "I never thought that Shen Yi, such a cold and rational person, would have his sentimental moments as well."
They all knew Shen Yi was busy, so nobody told him to definitely come back, aware that even if he did, he would probably have to rush back the next day at the latest.
But Shen Yi was willing to do this.
Just as Ye Wanwan stepped outside the villa, she saw Shen Yi getting out of the car and quickly waved at him while walking towards him. Shen Yi saw her and smiled at her tenderly.
When Ye Wanwan reached him, Shen Yi first looked her up and down, leaving her puzzled.
"What’s wrong?" Ye Wanwan also looked down at herself, not finding anything amiss.
Shen Yi stretched out his hand to pull Ye Wanwan into his embrace, "The butler said you were all good, but I really needed to see you with my own eyes to be at ease."
Before leaving the country, Shen Yi had given Ye Wanwan a long list of instructions, but he knew she couldn’t possibly remember them all, so he had informed the butler about all the life-related matters.
