"Dad, I missed you too!" Ye Wanwan said as she was already sitting down next to her father, swinging his arm back and forth.
In Ye Wanwan’s eyes, Ye Zhenhua was never a strict father. She often acted spoiled with him to get what she wanted.
Ye Zhenhua glanced at her, seemingly dissatisfied, and huffed, "I can’t tell."
If she really missed them, why wouldn’t she come visit more often?
Ye Wanwan stuck out her tongue, presenting a playful appearance.
"Never mind your dad." Su Xiangyi went over to pull Ye Wanwan to sit by her side and then rambled on about some trivial matters.
Ye Zhenhua, unable to get a word in with Shen Yi, spoke up to break the awkward silence, assuming an elder’s attitude, "How’s work been recently?"
Shen Yi replied, "Everything’s been going smoothly."
Ye Zhenhua nodded, inwardly very satisfied with this son-in-law, but no matter how pleased he was, he would never show it.
Then Ye Zhenhua continued, "Has Wanwan been causing you any trouble? She’s spoiled by her mother at home, and likes to make a fuss over little things."
"If she does something wrong, feel free to discipline her. If she doesn’t listen, then tell me, and I’ll take care of it."
Although Ye Zhenhua’s remarks were about Ye Wanwan’s temper, he didn’t seem apologetic at all, rather it seemed more like he was testing if Shen Yi had any issues with Ye Wanwan.
Shen Yi understood and answered, "No, Wanwan is very good."
As for his wife Ye Wanwan, so far, Shen Yi didn’t find anything lacking. She could be capricious at times, which actually brought some fun into his orderly life.
It was just that recently, his wife seemed a bit off, especially since she had a nightmare yesterday and then brought up wanting to work.
With that thought, Shen Yi subconsciously turned to glance at Ye Wanwan sitting next to him.
Ye Wanwan appeared to be engaged in an interesting conversation with Su Xiangyi, constantly wearing a sweet smile, looking charming and adorable.
Until Su Xiangyi suddenly changed the subject, "Dudu will be one year old in a few days; you should hurry up and have a child, so I can hold my grandchild soon."
"Mom!" Ye Wanwan was caught off guard when the conversation abruptly turned to this topic, her face turned red, and she couldn’t help raising her voice.
Shen Yi, although clueless about who Dudu was, knew his mother-in-law was hinting at having a child. Even though they were married, discussing such matters openly still made Shen Yi somewhat uncomfortable.
Regarding having children, Shen Yi wasn’t opposed. In his view, it was right to start a family at the appropriate age.
But with the education he had received over the years, he didn’t have too many demands regarding the gender of the child or how many to have, preferring to let nature take its course.
Seeing Ye Wanwan’s reaction, Su Xiangyi knew she was feeling shy and said nonchalantly, "You’re young now, it’s better to have children while you can recover quickly."
"Look at your cousin; she just wanted to have fun when she was young, waiting until she was thirty to have a child. And how many years has it been since?"
"Because she had children too late, her body didn’t recover well, and now she already looks close to forty."
