Ye Wanwan herself didn’t really need to buy anything. Whether it was various high-end clothes and shoes, or bags and jewelry, when new collections came out, someone would always deliver a set to her home for her to choose from.
So, she wasn’t particularly interested in going out shopping.
Consequently, the couple headed straight for the baby store. They were greeted by a young female clerk who, upon seeing Ye Wanwan and Shen Yi, quickly inquired, "Are you shopping for a gift or for your own little one?"
Ye Wanwan was less than two months pregnant and wasn’t showing yet, so it was normal for the clerk not to notice.
"For our own little one," Shen Yi answered.
His face was gentle, clearly revealing his happiness.
"How old is the baby? Is it a boy or a girl?" the clerk asked next.
Shen Yi said, "Just two months, we don’t know the gender yet."
The clerk suddenly understood, glanced at Ye Wanwan, and then led them over to the newborn section, where the clothes were suitable for just-born babies.
"This section is for just-born infants. You can take a look yourselves, or I can make some recommendations," the clerk offered.
Ye Wanwan smiled and thanked her, "Thank you, we’ll look on our own."
"Alright, if you need anything, just call for me," said the clerk with a slight bow before she turned and left.
The clothing for newborns was relatively simple, primarily in light colors and without complicated decorations, mainly to ensure the baby’s comfort.
Among the light colors, Shen Yi almost subconsciously reached for a pink onesie with a little rabbit pattern on it.
"What do you think of this one?" Shen Yi asked, turning to Ye Wanwan.
Ye Wanwan nodded, "It’s nice."
Shen Yi smiled with satisfaction and held onto it, clearly intending to buy it.
Ye Wanwan didn’t say much, she started looking as well, and so the two of them went from zero to three months section, to the six-month-olds, then to the one-year-olds, and kept on going.
But as they kept looking, Ye Wanwan was gradually finding it hard to hold back.
At the start, from zero to three months, the babies all wore onesies. Even if it was a boy, a bit of pink wouldn’t matter.
For the six-month-olds, Shen Yi was still mainly picking pink, and the same went for the one-year-olds.
When it came to clothing for the baby aged one and older, there were more colors and styles.
Shen Yi picked up a white princess dress with a mesh skirt to show Ye Wanwan, "This one would look particularly beautiful on the baby!"
Shen Yi spoke with utter conviction, but Ye Wanwan couldn’t help frowning. The dress was pretty, very pretty indeed, but the key point was that Zhouzhou was a boy!
It was one thing for him to choose all pink before, given the baby was still young and the light pink didn’t matter, but a dress was different.
"Shen Yi, these are all for girls. Haven’t you ever considered that the baby might be a boy?" Ye Wanwan said very tactfully.
Shen Yi was slightly taken aback, then as if a lightbulb went off, he said to Ye Wanwan, very seriously, "Wanwan, don’t overthink it. Our family doesn’t have a throne to inherit; we don’t have to have a son."
"And besides, I think a girl would be nice too."
"Huh?" Ye Wanwan furrowed her brow, completely confused by what Shen Yi meant.
