Seeing Shen Yi’s gloomy expression, yet without uttering a single word, Xia Ting thought that the couple must have had an argument which led to the pregnant woman’s emotional outburst, nearly causing a disaster.
Xia Ting sternly said, "She is pregnant, and she’s already five months along. Being too agitated might lead to a miscarriage!"
Shen Yi lifted his eyes to glance at the female doctor, aware of the gravity of today’s incident, but that didn’t mean he failed to perceive the personal emotions laced within her sudden stern reprimand.
And Xia Ting, under Shen Yi’s gaze, felt somewhat uneasy. She pursed her lips and then feigned calm as she said, "It’s best if such things don’t happen again in the future. It’s too dangerous for the baby."
After speaking, Xia Ting turned and left, with Shen Yi watching her departing figure.
Actually, Doctor Xia hadn’t realized that her final remark wasn’t as calm as she thought. At least, he detected panic in her words.
Shen Yi withdrew his gaze and went back into the ward, where Ye Wanwan, upon seeing Shen Yi come in, subconsciously tried to sit up.
"Don’t move," Shen Yi said as he quickly went to sit by Ye Wanwan’s side.
"What did Doctor Xia just tell you?" Ye Wanwan asked, somewhat worried, fearing something might be wrong with the baby.
"She just told me some precautions. Don’t worry," Shen Yi reassured Ye Wanwan, helping her to lie back down on the hospital bed.
Ye Wanwan let out a sigh of relief, her hand subconsciously resting on her lower abdomen.
Shen Yi looked at Ye Wanwan and hesitated for quite a while before asking, "Wanwan, what happened just now? Why did your emotions suddenly become so agitated?"
Shen Yi truly didn’t know what had happened, as all his attention had been on Ye Wanwan once she felt unwell.
Ye Wanwan’s complexion was somewhat pale. Shen Yi couldn’t tell if it was due to her current poor health or because he made her recall the incident that had upset her.
"I heard that Xun Lehan and Zhang Xiaowei were in a car accident," said Ye Wanwan, and she couldn’t help but frown.
It wasn’t just the car accident involving Xun Lehan and Zhang Xiaowei that Ye Wanwan feared. What scared her even more was that no matter how they tried to change things, the outcome would remain the same.
