Ye Wanwan returned to Shen Yi’s side and took the phone to look at the photos Shen Yi had just taken.
It had to be said, Shen Yi’s photography skills were still impressive, Ye Wanwan found every single photo quite beautiful, but she still needed to edit them.
Ye Wanwan sent the photos one by one to her own phone, then handed Shen Yi’s phone back to him, preparing to pull out her own phone to slowly work on the edits.
"Let’s go, sit down and take our time looking at them," Shen Yi, concerned that Ye Wanwan would tire from standing here for too long, suggested they sit down first.
"Okay," Ye Wanwan put away her phone, and with Shen Yi’s assistance, walked toward the spot they had reserved.
However, they had barely taken a few steps when Shen Yi’s phone suddenly rang.
"Hold on a second," Shen Yi said, stopping, and after Ye Wanwan also halted, he took out his phone from his coat.
Seeing that the call was from Uncle Zhang, Shen Yi instinctively glanced outside the restaurant, but he didn’t spot Uncle Zhang anywhere.
"Hello, Uncle Zhang?" Shen Yi answered the phone.
On the other end, Uncle Zhang spoke rapidly, "Sir, Miss He Qingyun has just entered the restaurant as well, with a man—that’s her young boyfriend, Ren Yushi."
As soon as Uncle Zhang finished speaking, Shen Yi saw He Qingyun and Ren Yushi approaching from the opposite direction, and he involuntarily furrowed his brows.
Ren Yushi also noticed Shen Yi and Ye Wanwan at the first instance, and he paused briefly.
He Qingyun’s reaction was a bit slower than Ye Wanwan’s, but she eventually noticed them as well.
After her surprise, Ye Wanwan became wary, instinctively leaning closer to Shen Yi as if fearing that He Qingyun might hurt her.
But He Qingyun, after her initial astonishment, smiled gracefully at Ye Wanwan and Shen Yi as if they were the best of friends.
It wasn’t until He Qingyun and Ren Yushi reached them that He Qingyun said with a smiling demeanor, "What a coincidence to meet here again."
Neither Shen Yi nor Ye Wanwan had said anything yet when He Qingyun continued, "But we won’t disturb your date, Merry Christmas."
After saying that, He Qingyun took a step aside, leading Ren Yushi away first.
The atmosphere between Shen Yi and Ye Wanwan, however, turned somewhat less pleasant.
Shen Yi didn’t know whether He Qingyun’s appearance here today was truly coincidental or intentional.
If it was a coincidence, there was nothing much to say, but if it was intentional, Shen Yi wondered how He Qingyun knew they would be here.
However, remembering that Ye Wanwan was still by his side, Shen Yi momentarily put that matter aside and softly said to her, "It’s okay, let’s go sit down."
Ye Wanwan was still frowning, obviously in a bad mood, and upon hearing Shen Yi’s comforting words, she forced a smile, but it was clearly strained.
Shen Yi felt sorry for her and drew her into his embrace, walking forward while saying, "Trust me, everything’s fine."
"Mhm," Ye Wanwan nodded and did not say much more.
But at the end of the day, their good mood for the evening had still been disrupted, and the atmosphere during their meal was not as good as before.
Looking at Ye Wanwan’s demeanor, Shen Yi’s expression darkened; he had to deal with He Qingyun’s issue as soon as possible.
After they finished dining and were walking out of the restaurant, Ye Wanwan instinctively looked toward a corner of the eatery and, indeed, saw He Qingyun and the man.
