Xiao Yu nestled in Zhang Xuehan’s arms, speaking softly, "Mom, I didn’t do it on purpose. I just pulled her a bit, and then she fell down."
"It’s alright, mom knows you didn’t do it on purpose, and we’ve apologized to Zhenzhen already. But you can’t do that again next time, got it?"
After the meal was finished, Zhao Yingling came down from upstairs, and Su Tong glanced at her, "How is Zhenzhen doing?"
"She’s fine; she’s already asleep," Zhao Yingling answered and then adopted an indifferent expression, "She’s just a scaredy-cat who also loves to cry."
Upon hearing these words, Zhang Xuehan felt a surge of inexplicable anger welling up inside her. She couldn’t understand how her own child could cry like that, yet Zhao Yingling could speak so dismissively.
But ultimately Zhang Xuehan didn’t say anything. Not only did Zhang Xuehan stay quiet, but so did Ye Wanwan and Su Tong.
The group finished their meal in quiet, then cleaned up simply before going back to their respective rooms.
