"Wanwan, where are you? What’s happened?" Shen Yi could tell—Ye Wanwan was clearly crying!
As he asked, he turned to leave, but after taking a few steps, he stopped again. He was out of town, so he couldn’t possibly appear at Ye Wanwan’s side immediately!
Shen Yi took a deep breath, trying to stay calm, then patiently asked, "Wanwan, are you at home? What’s happened?"
Ye Wanwan sniffed hard, then said to Shen Yi in a hoarse, low voice, "I’m not at home."
"Then where are you? Don’t be afraid, just tell me where you are, what’s happened?" Shen Yi asked, his mind racing. If she had gone out, then she must have been accompanied by a driver.
It was highly likely that Uncle Zhang had taken her out. Was Uncle Zhang by her side now that something had happened?
"Shen Yi, I—I’m pregnant!" After Ye Wanwan finished speaking, she couldn’t control her emotions any longer and started sobbing softly.
On the phone, Shen Yi was stunned for a few seconds, doubting if he had misheard, "Wanwan, what—what did you say?"
"Shen Yi, I’m pregnant, what should I do?" Tears fell from Ye Wanwan’s eyes as if they cost nothing.
She had been scared witless since last night, all the way up to the moment her pregnancy was definitively confirmed during her check-up. She was absolutely terrified!
"Wanwan..." Shen Yi found that he was so anxious, he couldn’t even speak properly.
Shen Yi raised his hand to rub his forehead, took a while to compose himself, and then continued, "Wanwan, where are you right now?"
"In the hospital," Ye Wanwan obediently answered.
Shen Yi continued, "Where’s Uncle Zhang?"
"He’s, he’s waiting for me downstairs," Ye Wanwan said.
"Have you finished your check-up?"
"Then go downstairs and head home for now, all right? I will be back soon, can you wait for me at home?" Shen Yi asked softly.
Ye Wanwan nodded her head but then, remembering Shen Yi couldn’t see it, she mumbled a blurred, "Okay."
"Now, go downstairs and head home. Once you’re home, could you let me know?" Shen Yi continued.
"Okay," Ye Wanwan replied, then, after being stunned for two seconds, she stood up.
"Then that’s it for now. I’m going to buy a ticket and head back!" After saying that, Shen Yi was ready to hang up the phone, but he added one more sentence, "Wanwan, don’t be afraid."
After hanging up the phone, Shen Yi quickly walked back to the private dining room he had come from. He had stepped out to a quiet place earlier to take Ye Wanwan’s call.
In the private room, Assistant Chen was drinking on Shen Yi’s behalf with the other executives. When they saw Shen Yi return, they prepared to chat with him.
But Shen Yi apologized to everyone, "I have a temporary matter to deal with, let’s gather another time."
After finishing, Shen Yi gave Assistant Chen a knowing look, then picked up his things and walked out.
Assistant Chen nodded to the group and followed Shen Yi quickly.
"President Shen, what happened?" Assistant Chen caught up and asked in a low voice.
While walking, Shen Yi said, "Book a ticket, whether it’s a train or a plane, just the fastest one."
He had to rush back immediately!
Assistant Chen was foggy about what had occurred, but without asking any further questions, he took out his phone to check the flight schedules.
