It was Saturday, and Shen Wenzhou woke up early. When he went downstairs for breakfast after washing up, he found himself alone at the dining table.
He ate breakfast by himself, then went to put new cat food for Taozhi.
It was only when Shen Wenzhou went to change the cat food that he noticed there was still a lot of the canned cat food from the previous night left over; Taozhi had only eaten a little bit.
Lately, Taozhi had been eating less and less and was also becoming less active. After a visit to the pet hospital, the vet only said it was because Taozhi was getting old.
As for the rest, Shen Wenzhou was no longer a child and could understand the unsaid implication behind the vet’s words.
But these last couple of days, it seemed that Taozhi was eating even less, and Shen Wenzhou couldn’t help but furrow his brows, his face filled with concern.
After disposing of the leftover canned food from yesterday, Shen Wenzhou opened a new can and put it down, then turned around to look but didn’t see Taozhi anywhere.
"Taozhi," Shen Wenzhou called out.
In the past, Taozhi would always respond to Shen Wenzhou’s voice and would come to his side as fast as possible, no matter where it was.
But today, Taozhi didn’t come over. Not knowing why, a bad feeling welled up inside Shen Wenzhou’s heart, and he couldn’t help but call out again, "Taozhi!"
Perhaps it was his sudden raised voice, but the servant in the villa noticed and came to see what was happening.
Seeing this, Shen Wenzhou quickly asked, "Have you seen Taozhi?"
The servant shook their head blankly, indicating they had not seen the cat.
Shen Wenzhou became even more anxious and started to search the places where Taozhi usually liked to stay.
When his mobile phone vibrated, Shen Wenzhou noticed. He took out his phone and saw it was a call from Zhou Ruoyu. Without hesitation, he answered the call.
Before calling Shen Wenzhou, Zhou Ruoyu had been feeling very nervous, finally plucking up the courage to make the call, already in a state of panic.

"Go to the library?" Shen Wenzhou was anxious to find Taozhi and wasn’t paying too much attention, so he repeated uncertainly.
"Yes, I..." As Zhou Ruoyu heard Shen Wenzhou’s voice, the excitement in her heart became even more uncontrollable.
However, before she could continue, Shen Wenzhou had already interrupted her, "Sorry, I’m not free."
"What?" Zhou Ruoyu was caught off guard.
On the other side, Shen Wenzhou was already out of patience, "I have something to do, gotta go first."
After speaking, Shen Wenzhou didn’t give Zhou Ruoyu a chance to respond and hung up the phone.
He searched all the usual spots for Taozhi on the first floor of the villa and still didn’t find the cat, so Shen Wenzhou, frowning, hurried to the second floor.
On the other hand, Zhou Ruoyu was looking at the phone that had just been hung up, her eyes red with anger!
She couldn’t understand why everything that had been going so smoothly had suddenly all changed!
