Shen Yi didn’t know what he should say; he just felt a scorching heat in his heart, as if there were a fire burning inside.
"Although it can’t compare with your other clothes, you can’t disdain it!" Ye Wanwan suddenly said.
"Mmm." Shen Yi came back to his senses and responded deeply. He wouldn’t disdain it. To him, it wasn’t just a shirt.
After carefully placing the shirt back in the bag, Ye Wanwan leaned back in her seat and couldn’t help but yawn. The joy of the whole day gradually faded, and sleepiness began to seep in bit by bit.
"So sleepy." Ye Wanwan mumbled.
"There’s about twenty minutes until we’re home; if you’re tired, sleep first," Shen Yi said.
Ye Wanwan yawned again, originally wanting to hold out until she got home, but upon hearing Shen Yi, she gave up.
"Then I’m going to sleep. Wake me up when we get there," Ye Wanwan said and then closed her eyes.
She must have indeed been tired, as she drifted off into a drowsy sleep shortly after closing her eyes.
Her head kept slipping towards the car window; Shen Yi carefully reached out his hand and drew her into his arms, letting her rest against his chest.
Shen Yi’s gaze never left Ye Wanwan’s face, just watching her continuously.
It seemed like he could never get enough of looking at her.
When they arrived home it was already midnight. Shen Yi had just moved his arm when Ye Wanwan woke up in a daze, "Are we there?"
Shen Yi got out of the car and reached out to help Ye Wanwan, but her legs were weak from just waking up. If Shen Yi hadn’t been supporting her, she probably would have fallen straight out of the car.
Shen Yi supported Ye Wanwan, then bent down to pick her up; Ye Wanwan, startled, instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck.
The villa was quiet; Shen Yi carried her upstairs to the bedroom and pushed the door open. He lowered his head to kiss the corner of Ye Wanwan’s lips before putting her down, "It’s late. Go take a bath and get some rest."
"Mmm." Ye Wanwan, her cheeks faintly blushing, murmured an acknowledgment and then turned to go to the walk-in closet to get her pajamas.
Ye Wanwan was so tired that day that she even spent less time bathing. By the time Shen Yi finished and came out, Ye Wanwan was already asleep in bed.
Shen Yi unconsciously moved quietly, quickly tidied up, then also turned off the light and lay down in bed.
He reached out his arm and pulled Ye Wanwan into his embrace; Ye Wanwan furrowed her brows and hummed softly, as if her sweet dreams were disturbed.
Shen Yi gently patted her back and kissed her forehead lightly, whispering, "Sleep."
Saturday came in the blink of an eye.
Ye Wanwan and Shen Yi were going to attend a banquet tonight, so after lunch at Shallow Bay, they left for the beauty studio that Ye Wanwan frequently visited.
Shen Yi simply changed into a suit; from start to finish, it took only a short fifteen minutes.
Ye Wanwan, on the other hand, hadn’t even chosen a dress yet. In the end, she decided to try one on to see how it looked.
Shen Yi sat on the sofa in the rest area, sipping coffee while replying to work-related messages on his phone.
After some time passed, a staff member beside Shen Yi said, "Mr. Shen, Mrs. Shen is coming."
Shen Yi instinctively looked up, then saw Ye Wanwan, clad in a champagne satin evening gown, holding up the hem of her dress and walking towards him.
