It took almost an hour before Ye Wanwan finished her makeup. She stood up and walked over to the full-length mirror to check her appearance, with Shen Yi standing behind her.
As Ye Wanwan looked at her reflection, something felt slightly off.
She turned to look at Shen Yi, noting his white shirt and black suit, and then at herself, wearing a pure white satin gown.
Ye Wanwan suddenly had the illusion that they were about to attend a wedding—and that they themselves were the bride and groom.
Ye Wanwan quickly shook her head. What was she thinking?
By the time she was satisfied everything was perfect, it was already five in the afternoon.
"Let’s go eat," Ye Wanwan said.
"Alright, I’ll go to the restroom first," Shen Yi told Ye Wanwan before heading off.
Once Shen Yi was gone, a nearby staff member couldn’t help teasing, "Mr. Shen and Mrs. Shen really do seem very much in love."
Ye Wanwan smiled bashfully, her lips pressed together.
Soon after, Shen Yi reappeared, and the two left the studio to head to the restaurant they had reserved beforehand.
At seven o’clock in the evening.
Shen Yi and Ye Wanwan got out of their car, then walked arm in arm into the hotel.
They were there to attend a birthday banquet for one of the directors of Jinghong Group. Most of the attendees were business elites.
When Shen Yi appeared with Ye Wanwan, he immediately drew the attention of most of the people present.

Consequently, everyone there naturally wanted to establish a good relationship with Shen Yi.
Ye Wanwan, wearing high heels, stood with Shen Yi for over half an hour before starting to feel uncomfortable. She moved her feet cautiously when she thought no one was paying attention.
Shen Yi noticed her discomfort and, after exchanging a few words with someone, quickly ended the conversation and led Ye Wanwan off to one side.
He found a corner where she could sit down and asked in a low voice, "Are your feet hurting?"
"It’s nothing, just a bit tired from standing for too long," Ye Wanwan replied in a small voice, feeling a bit dramatic.
"Did your shoes rub your feet raw?"
Shen Yi relaxed slightly, then glanced over the banquet hall. He knew he couldn’t avoid the networking, and said in a low tone to Ye Wanwan, "You just sit here for a while, play on your phone or have some pastries. No need to accompany me.
Ye Wanwan shook her head, "I’m fine. The shoes fit well; I’m just not used to wearing them for long periods, so I get tired when standing."
Having grown up in such a wealthy family, she knew how to behave in these situations. As Shen Yi’s wife, she should be by his side on such occasions.
Shen Yi understood what Ye Wanwan was thinking but didn’t see a problem, "Those people might not even get a chance to work with us, and even if we do talk it’s with me; whether you are there or not doesn’t change it."
