The phone on the bedside table buzzed.
Ye Gushen, lying on top of Tang Suiyu, stiffened. He held his breath, pressing down on her, debating whether or not to answer the call.
Her chest rose and fell as she said, "Honey, the phone..."
Only then did Ye Gushen reach out to answer it.
The light from the phone screen reflected on Ye Gushen’s stern face, his dark eyes filled with passion.
"Alright, I’ll be right back!" Ye Gushen hung up the phone, his warm palm holding her small face, "Ruannuan, Dad is sick. I need to go to the hospital. You stay at home..."
"No, we’ll go together!"
Half an hour later, outside the operating room, Ye Gushen and Tang Suiyu saw his elder brother and sister-in-law waiting.

Ye Guyao stood silent with regret for disturbing his younger brother’s intimate moment.
Tang Suiyu, already out of breath from trying to keep up with Ye Gushen, blushed furiously at their teasing, feeling too embarrassed to look at anyone.
She wanted nothing more than to bury her face in Ye Gushen’s chest and hide.
"How is Dad?" Ye Gushen tightened his grip on her small hand and asked calmly.
"He’s an old man, with the usual ailments, but it shouldn’t be serious."
The hospital’s air conditioning was running a bit too cold. Having rushed out in just a thin dress, Tang Suiyu felt a chill.
Ye Gushen wrapped his arm around her, and they went to the nearby lounge.
Tang Kang Hospital, where Tang Suiyu, the second Miss of the Tang Family, was naturally well received.
Holding a warm cup of water, she said, "Uncle Ye, don’t worry. Our doctors are very skilled. Dad will be fine!"
If Father Tang were still in the hospital, they could have visited him too!
Mr. Ye came out at around eleven at night; still unconscious from the anesthesia.
Ye Gushen and Tang Suiyu stayed in the room by his side while the older siblings went home first.
Tang Suiyu began yawning after a short while, genuinely tired.
She dozed off, leaning against Ye Gushen’s chest.
He moved her gently to the large bed in the adjacent ward, sitting beside her, watching her dearly.
He had loved her for thirteen years and insisted on marrying her, yet he couldn’t always be with her. Was what he did right or wrong?
"Ruannuan, good night." Ye Gushen kissed her forehead.
