Upon hearing his words, Mu Shaoling immediately took out a purse from his bosom and handed it to each person.
Ye Zi’an then entered the courtyard, but as soon as he reached the room, Yang Xiayun and others blocked him with one hand outstretched.
Seeing this, Luo Linhao called out, "Little sister, whose side are you on? Today is our cousin’s wedding, why are you standing with the bride’s side?"
Everyone burst out laughing.
"Humph, I don’t care! I want a red packet! Red packet, cousin!"
Ye Zi’an shook his head and chuckled, taking the purses handed to him by Mu Shaoling and giving one to each person. "That’s more like it," said Yang Xiayun.
Yang Dongxue, however, was taken aback. "You haven’t said a few words yet, brother-in-law."
"What am I supposed to say?" Ye Zi’an raised his eyebrows, looking at the young girl.
She fiddled with her purse and said, "You could say something like, ’Promise to treat my sister well,’ or something like that."
Yang Xiayun nodded, "Yes, yes, say a few words before we let you in." Everyone laughed; it seemed both the brother-in-law and sister-in-law were tough characters. Ye Zi’an had no choice but to make some promises to be good to Xiaxia for his entire life and hand out some more red packets before they let him in.
Traditionally, brothers carried their sisters out during weddings, but things were different for Yang Chuxia. Ye Zi’an gently picked her up and whispered, "My lady, I’ve come to take you away."
Yang Chuxia murmured softly from beneath her red veil.

Since they were marrying within the same village, they decided to circle the town before returning for the wedding ceremony.
When they returned at around 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the procession had just stopped outside Yang Chuxia’s house. They had already agreed to conduct the wedding ceremony on their side before proceeding to the bridal chamber at Ye Zi’an’s residence.
Yang Dachuan and Ms. Wang were now treated as the groom’s parents and received the kneeling couple’s obeisance. The ceremony continued with a bow to heaven and earth, respect to the parents, and mutual bows between the bride and groom. After the rites were completed, Ye Zi’an carried Yang Chuxia back to his own residence.
Along the way, everyone stifled their laughter, while Ms. Wang and Yang Dachuan watched the procession leave, shaking their heads with a smile. "This Brother An~~"
"My lady, we’re home!" Ye Zi’an gently placed her on the bed.
"The groom may now lift the bride’s veil," said the matchmaker.
As the veil was lifted, an incredibly beautiful face was revealed.
"The bride is so beautiful!"

Yang Chuxia, upon hearing everyone’s words, raised her head and asked Ye Zi’an, "Husband, do you think I’m pretty?"
Everyone burst into laughter once more, thinking that the spicy girl was indeed different from others.

The matchmaker, who was sweating profusely at everyone’s reactions, thought that today’s wedding had thoroughly broken all the rules. From the groom carrying the bride to the bridal chamber, to the couple returning to the groom’s family, everything was unconventional. But now, their conversation made it even more unique.
"Time for the bride and groom to drink the bridal wine!" With this, the matchmaker shooed everyone out of the room.
As they finished the wine and received a large red packet, the matchmaker finally left the room.
