Lin Fu’s gaze was ice-cold as she stared at Xia Youyou, her eyes narrowing dangerously.
"Do you want to help?" Anton asked.
"Yes! Xu Jinglan is my friend," Lin Fu nodded earnestly.
"If she only knows how to cause trouble without the ability to handle it, then I advise you not to keep her as a friend," Anton’s words were ruthless and cold.
"Don’t look at me like that," Anton shrugged seriously, "Do you think you joined our squad because you’re pretty? Because you’re cute, capable of serving us dishes?"
Lin Fu forced a smile, "Am I not pretty or cute?"
Anton, always informal and prone to blather, was for once rendered speechless, prompting a snicker from the others.
"No, it’s not that. There are plenty of pretty people who can serve us, but we chose you, of course, for your strength, because you’ve earned our recognition. Do you understand? Friendship works the same way, it’s reciprocal."
After finishing, Anton considerately added, "Of course, the same applies to you joining us. If we spoke and acted without measure, were arrogant and brainless, not to mention lecherous, would you choose to join us? Probably not!"
"Cough cough... Anton, the lecher part didn’t need to be said."
"Oh! I forgot, we indeed have a lecher here," Anton suddenly realized.
Ivan solemnly patted Lin Fu on the shoulder like an elder brother, "Lin Fu, your roommate wasn’t chosen by you, but assigned by the school, so you shouldn’t turn a roommate into a friend."
