Lin Fu chuckled self-mockingly, "Maybe it’s because Fu Xing isn’t here, so going back seems pointless. Maybe it’s because the threshold of the Duke Mansion is too high, and I know I’m not worthy, so I feel the pressure. Perhaps, that place isn’t really home, not where my soul belongs."

Normally, Lin Fu would never reveal her true inner thoughts to Celia.

Celia urgently commanded the smart system, "Activate protection immediately, choose the best evasion plan." She also comforted Lin Fu, "Don’t be afraid, my flying car has the most advanced protection system, even cannon shells can’t penetrate..."
Her words were cut short as a shell hit the flying car, exploding on impact. The flying car, once sleek and comparable in size to a small fighter jet, was blasted into the sky, bursting into fireworks against the splendid night sky.
Bits and pieces rained down chaotically.
This was the chaotic Zone 23 on the Capital Star, a criminal paradise that even Fu Xing couldn’t eradicate after two attempts. Patrol teams usually avoid this area, and the flying cars of the Great Nobles like Celia would only fly over from high altitude, never landing.
Because the dangers hidden on the ground were deeper and more uncontrollable.

The so-called advanced protection turned out to be a joke; with the flying car’s propulsion system disabled, the doors shattered into fragments.
Lin Fu was grateful she hadn’t been knocked unconscious by the blast and had managed to protect herself from injury in the nick of time. She was even more relieved that Celia had found her midway, so her combat suit and weapons were still on her.
If she had been found in the dorm, she would have definitely changed into a beautiful dress, made up, and headed out beautifully due to habits from her former life.
