Celia had not used the energy in her weapon. She had hacked purely with primal force, which made the scene look particularly bloody.
In the end, the Duke of Glirhuade was chopped to pieces, dead beyond recognition.
Outside, the battle had ended.
The clanging sound of metal footsteps tapping firmly on the floor echoed through the corridor as Lance, clad in an icy Mecha suit, walked in. Seeing the bloody scene within the room, he slightly furrowed his brows.
In the interstellar era, battles were seldom this bloody. Most were hit by weapons and turned to ash.
This illustrated the hatred in Celia’s heart.
"Lance, I’ve succeeded."
Celia stood still, hands propped on her blade, her voice resonating with endless melancholy, void of any joy of success.
"But I don’t feel happy at all."
Lance frowned, lifting his hand to gently rest it on Celia’s shoulder, saying nothing, just silently standing there.
In this gorgeous, blood-stained room, a man and a woman were giving each other strength and comfort.
Their relationship had never been good. In fact, they despised and hated each other. Yet, due to the same person and the same experiences, they had made an unprecedented alliance and carried out this earth-shattering deed.
Without Lance’s support, Celia could never have succeeded on her own.
From outside the room came the voice of the manservant, Armand: "Miss, it’s all over now."
Celia’s voice sounded hoarse, as if after a bout of hysteria. She quickly gathered her emotions and turned around, no longer showing any signs of fragility.
She was now cold, commanding, and there was even a slight trace of ferocity.
Her demeanor and expression changed drastically. She was no longer a young girl in her twenties, but a successful Great Noble, a politician.
She straightened her back, moved past Lance, and walked to the door, looking at Armand, "Though the obstacle has been dealt with, there’s still much cleanup to be done! It’s so annoying! I still don’t have the prestige and power to firmly hold the ducal position."
Armand replied with utmost respect: "Yes, the Nobles of the Glehuward Star System and the elders of the family are unlikely to support you, Miss! Therefore, you need allies, or else tonight we might inadvertently favor some unknown brother of yours."
"Seeking allies, they will surely take this chance to make exorbitant demands. If you concede too much, you still won’t be able to justify it to the insiders. You must be cautious, Miss."
This was the most dangerous time for Celia.
She could very well end up disgraced and meet a terrible fate.
The internal power struggle of a Guardian Family was complex and brutal. It certainly wasn’t as simple as removing an obstacle and succeeding, or else everyone would resort to that.
Celia’s father had become Duke because he cooperated with His Majesty and rode the coattails of success, backed by the Royal Family.
Armand looked at Lance with pleading eyes. He was the Miss’s only friend and ally.

Lance turned around, glanced at Armand indifferently, "Your Miss has been prepared for a long time. She doesn’t need me to worry." After speaking, he handed over a box.
Inside was the Legendary Mecha of the Grilward family, which Lance had intercepted earlier.
Armand took it respectfully.
In the middle of the night, Mervin had just fallen asleep when his personal housekeeper robot woke him, "Young Master, you have a visitor. I believe you might need to see them."
