Theresa, feeling guilty, didn’t dare to look at Lin Fu, clearly hit by the truth of her words.
“Joseph V had you accompany the newcomers to Helheim Star because he wanted you to provoke me into killing you at a critical moment, just like how I killed your Chief Lady at the Eighth Universe Port, didn’t he?”
“If you already know, why ask me?”

Lin Fu laughed at that, causing many in the hall to lower their heads.
“What… what exactly do you want to do?”
“Naturally, I want to fulfill Joseph V’s wish.” Lin Fu glanced at Han Shuang, who, without needing her to speak, drew the dagger strapped to her calf, showing off her knife skills with a grin, and started walking toward Theresa.
“You’re going to kill me?” Theresa asked, eyes wide with shock, “You… how dare you?”
“Why wouldn’t I dare?” Lin Fu found it absurd. “You are the daughter of my father’s murderer; why wouldn’t I dare? I didn’t get the chance to handle Joseph myself, but killing you for some retribution is still possible.”
“The incident from ten years ago has nothing to do with me; I was completely unaware, I am innocent.” Theresa stepped back as she spoke, her face filled with panic while her mind raced to find a way out.
Escape?
Impossible. Though she was known as the Royal Family’s once-in-a-century genius, she knew better than anyone how much of that was fluff; anyone here could overpower her.
She stood no chance at all.
“But you did attempt to assassinate me, which is true,” Lin Fu said with a wicked smile.
Terrorized and at her limit, Theresa could no longer hold herself together and, with a thump, fell to her knees begging for mercy, crying out loud, “I’m sorry, I know I was wrong, I won’t dare again, please, Your Highness, I really won’t dare again. I swear, henceforth, I will be obedient.”
The people inside the hall widened their eyes in astonishment.
Fu Xing, standing at the side in the Small Flower Hall and discussing matters with Murphy, heard the commotion. Peering through the glass window, a mocking smile curled at the edge of his mouth.
Murphy was astounded.
“This, this, this…” It took him a while to say: “This is nothing like the Princess Therese I know, how could she…” The Princess Therese he knew was too proud to ever bow her head, even getting her to apologize to someone was difficult, how could this be? And how quickly she knelt.

Murphy looked at Fu Xing in surprise, “Could the legend be true?”

On the contrary, he was strategic and visionary, far beyond Joseph V’s comparison,” Fu Xing took a sip from his glass, turning his head to look at Murphy, “You missed out on him; it’s truly a pity. Joseph V is arrogant, conceited, cruel, and cold-blooded, and his vision too limited. Without even understanding the situation, he rashly staged a coup and though he eventually took the throne, he was trapped by it for the rest of his life, enduring agony.”
“You nobles…” Murphy gritted his teeth in anger, “This is what you wanted to see, isn’t it? Indeed, the Cabinet’s decision was right; you ancient nobility who control the Empire’s greatest resources and secrets, you dispose of people’s lives and even the fate of the Empire at will.”
