"Fuck..." Qingyi closed his eyes, an intense pain taking over his mind and forcing him to clench his teeth.
It was as if his very brain was slowly tearing itself apart, every drop of his being screaming in agony.
It was horrible, but he resisted, moving his draconic Qi and forcing his bloodline to activate.
The moment the colossal figure of a black dragon’s head appeared on Qingyi’s back, the thread of Qi holding that demonic cultivator’s mental attack together broke, crushed by Qingyi’s draconic Qi.
"Is that... bloodline projection?" The demonic cultivator questioned as he took a step back, feeling a shiver run down his spine.
He didn’t lock up like all his men, but he still felt his Qi severely suppressed and his body shuddered gently.
"Ah..." Qingyi sighed, his eyes sweeping over the demonic cultivators around him as he counted. "100... 300... 400..."
"Khaedryss... looks like you’re going to have a full meal today." Qingyi flashed a bloody smile.
"Damn, what the hell are you talking about? You’re going to die here!" The demonic cultivator exploded as he released as much of his Nascent Soul Realm aura as he could.
The ground beneath his feet cracked, a long saber appearing in his hands as he advanced towards Qingyi.
The handsome young man didn’t even blink at that power and the heaven-defying thunder sword flashed brightly.
The moment the demonic cultivator got within ten meters of Qingyi, he realized his mistake.
A colossal jaw appeared in front of him, sharp teeth flashing menacingly as they closed around his abdomen.
He tried to scream and struggle, but stopped when a torrent of fire poured between Khaedryss’ clenched teeth, cooking him alive before swallowing him.
"Good girl." Qingyi patted her muzzle, turning to the other demonic cultivators. "What are you waiting for? Take care of them!"
The moment Qingyi’s voice ceased, Khaedryss lunged forward, her jaw opening in a bestial roar as her flames consumed everything in front of her.
Her rider had truly prepared a great feast for her and she had to admit that little Elize chose her men very well.
"So... now it’s just you and me." Qingyi smiled at young master Zhao, who immediately tried to run away.
’I should have listened to Dad, damn it, why the hell didn’t I listen to Dad?’ He repeated in his mind.
Unfortunately, it was too late to whine or repent.
Qingyi was already in front of him, his eyes filled with a murderous intent so powerful that it was almost palpable.
"You came after me and not my wife, so you’ll die quickly." Qingyi kicked young master Zhao Yulie, knocking him to the ground and keeping him there.
"P-please, I made a mistake! I-I didn’t mean to-"
"Yes, you meant to." Qingyi pressed his foot against Yulie’s chest even harder, eliciting a pained cry from him as his ribcage cracked.
"And you’re going to tell me exactly what those demon cultivators wanted."
Qingyi completely ignored Yulie’s cries as he questioned him, ignoring the cries of despair from the demon cultivators who were trying to escape from Khaedryss.
Unfortunately, Yulie didn’t know much beyond the fact that this was a war band of demonic cultivators operating in the vicinity of White Peak City and that they were interested in the box as a catalyst for a ritual.
It wasn’t exactly a valuable item in the grand scheme of things, at least not for the truly powerful sects, but it still had its value.
With nothing left to take from Yulie, Qingyi simply swung the heaven-defying thunder sword, decapitating him.
By this time, Khaedryss had eaten all she could eat, her body burning with power as her stomach dissolved her victims.
That was Khaedryss’ greatest strength - even without being able to cultivate, she could still get stronger by eating her victims.
Stroking the underside of her neck, Qingyi turned his face away, focusing on the fight on the horizon.
The sky was filled with Rongyan’s flames as she punched, the air shuddering for hundreds of meters around her with every blow exchanged.
Normally, what had happened below them wouldn’t escape the senses of cultivators of their level, but they were too focused on each other to notice anything else.
" You bastard!" Rongyan roared, her fists blazing with flames as she punched towards the shadow cultivator.
He just dodged, his body melting into a sea of shadows before reappearing behind Rongyan, kicking her in the back and sending her flying for hundreds of meters until she stabilized, coughing up a gulp of blood.
That was one hell of an opponent to fight against, especially for her whose entire power was based solely on destructive explosiveness.
"Why don’t you give up, little beauty?" The shadowy figure spoke, his dark eyes roaming over Rongyan. "I’ll put that body to good use after this."
"Fuck you!" She snarled, gathering all her power, her aura expanding uncontrollably as her hair fluttered.
She had made a decision; if she couldn’t hit him, she would blow up everything around her.
Her power continued to increase unabated, her meridians screaming in agony.
"You’re going to die today!" She roared, finally releasing all that power.
A fireball consumed everything within a radius of two kilometers before disappearing, leaving an exhausted Rongyan behind.
She looked down, searching for Qingyi, but was soon stopped by an annoying, smiling voice.
"An incredible attack, little beauty... You almost hurt me!" The shadowy figure laughed as he pointed his hand towards Rongyan’s delicate neck.
But before he even got close to her, he stopped, looking down with his eyes wide with terror.
He had no time to defend himself, Khaedryss’ jaw closing around his body and devouring him.
Only his hand remained, thrown away in an explosion of blood.
"Is that..." Rongyan whispered, overcome by shock as she watched the huge beast that Qingyi was riding.
"Is everything all right, senior? I’ve already dealt with the pigs down there." Qingyi spoke as Khaedryss controlled her flight so that he was at the same height as Rongyan.
The beauty opened her mouth to reply, but no words came out.
Her vision suddenly blurred and she collapsed.
